This ottoman was was worth $1.5 million, let's see, you trampled dirt all over this imported rug in the foyer, which had to be sent back to Persia for refurbishing, that's 100k. The front door that you smashed in was a one of kind original from a world reknowned door artist valued at $2.1 million. Oh yeah there's some "emotional, we got our rights trampled - and feelings hurt - and now need to retire to a South Pacific Island" claims that we're levying as well.

The idea is punitive damages. These incompetent boobs violated the people's rights. They should pay an amount that assures that the pain from making this mistake again is sufficient to get their attention.

Second offense should be double with the addition of the people involved losing their jobs.

Thank God the people didn't mistake these aholes for the usual criminals and try to resist with weapons, they would have been murdered in their own home.

Let's throw a few concussion grenades into your home in the middle of the night and you can tell me what the experience is worth. Someone trusted with that degree of force had better have the right address in hand before the operation begins at the very least

The JBT's and their wannabe supporters can laugh this off but try squaring it with the Bill of Rights
