Dixie Chicks Keep On Trucking
Official DC Website ^ | 6/9/06 | The Twits

June 9, 2006 MESSAGE FROM NATALIE, EMILY & MARTIE:

To our Fans: Any reports being made about the cancellation of our upcoming Accidents And Accusations tour are completely false.

We have known since March 2003 that our path in this business would have obstacles at every pass. We have enjoyed meeting each one head-on and we will continue to do so. Dixie Chicks fans are as active and dedicated as they come. This time around we are willingly feeling our way through unchartered territory. Things don't come as easy as they might have come in the past, and it makes each accomplishment more exciting and appreciated.

We will go where the fans are with great anticipation and no regrets. To find out (along with us) where that is, visit www.dixiechicks.com for all updates to Accidents And Accusations tour information.

Love, The Chicks

Yes I love em too. Good people who perform at a consistently high level. A very high level. I think they did too many ballads last time out. I hope they mix in a bit more uptempo stuff next time, but they're awesome. I've also been a fan for a long time, at least since "Every Time You Say Goodbye."

Due to the overwhelming demand for the Dixie Chicks in Canada, England and Australia, this concert date must be rerouted and the on-sale will be postponed until the fall. Check back to the Savvis Center website for more information as it becomes available.

They forget to mention the complete and total LACK OF DEMAND in the US. This keeps getting funnier and funnier!!!!

I heartily agree with your assessment. When I heard a few of their first releases,I was so so on their music. After that,it seemed the same stuff over and over, only they became hard to take on the ears. They dumped a classy girl who helped form the band for the big mouth one.Their reasoning being,to move in a different direction.Translated, meaning money.Natalie's dad is a prominent figure as a great steel player with contacts in the music biz. They didn't remain loyal to a fellow band member,so how could they be expected to remain loyal to anyone else! The Pres.and their fans! They reap what they sow.

I like Sara Evans. Born to Fly is a great record. And who's that on dobro? None other than Jerry Douglas, currently featured in AKUS ;0) She's got a nice voice and sings good tunes. Some of her stuff is a little TOO pop for me (Restless), but I like her sound on Born to Fly.

I saw tham on TV. Their composite IQ squared would not make minus zero.

Which confirms what I've always been thinking. They think they are smarter than they actually are. Thus their intelligence is imaginary (math joke).

"I'd rather have a smaller following of really cool people who get it, who will grow with us as we grow and are fans for life

They'd have to grow to be midgets, at least in many aspects!

In case you missed it, Reba said toward the end of the show: "I don't know why I was so nervous about hosting this show this year. If the Dixie Chicks can sing with their foot in their mouths, surely I can host this sucker."

There's a Dixie Chicks joke for ya! It was a comeback of sorts to their comment on her and Toby Keith's fans.

We don't want those kinds of fans. They limit what you can do."

Looks like they'll have enough spare time to get around to chalking that leaky toliet back home.

There was an incidental accident on the tour: no customers.

It means they dont have to give the money back to those who already bought tickets yet and they can use the American fans dollars to fund their travels abroad.

The Dippy Chicks are not versed very well in country music history and they must not be familar with Merle Haggard.

The Fighting Side Of Me

I hear people talkin' bad
About the way we have to live here, in this country
Harpin' on the wars we fight
An' grippin' 'bout the way things oughta be

An' I don't mind 'em switchin' sides an'
Standin' up for things they believe in
When they're runnin' down my country, man
They're walkin' on the fightin' side of me

Yeah, walkin' on the fightin' side of me
Runnin' down the way of life
Our fightin' men have fought and died to keep

If you don't love it, leave it
Let this song I'm singin' be a warnin'
If you're runnin' down my country man
You're walkin' on the fightin' side of me

I read about some squirrely guy
Who claims, he just don't believe in fightin'
And I wonder just how long
The rest of us can count on bein' free

They love our milk an' honey
But they preach about some other way, of livin'
When they're runnin' down my country, hoss
They're walkin' on the fightin' side of me

Yeah, walkin' on the fightin' side of me
Runnin' down our way of life
Our fightin' men have fought and died to keep

If you don't love it, leave it
Let this song I'm singin' be a warnin'
When you're runnin' down my country, man
You're walkin' on the fightin' side of me

Yeah, walkin' on the fightin' side of me
Runnin' down our way of life
Our fightin' men have fought and died to keep

If you don't love it, leave it
Let this song I'm singin' be a warnin'
If you're runnin' down my country, man
You're walkin' on the fightin' side of me

There was an original Dixie Chicks that sang Western ballads really well, untill Natalie Mange came along with her father and hijacked the group.

Message to Dixie Chicks (in case you’ve missed it):

If you want your fans to like you, don’t insult them.
