Jayna Davis is the reporter in Oklahoma and she wrote The Third Terrorist which is a must read.
I've recommended that book to people who previously were convinced that McVeigh and Nichols acted alone and the book and detailed research changed their minds.
Yes. And we can easily see some of the same errors in the first case, the same weaknesses in our system, came back to affect how we'd fail the next time. By the way, who was president then? Gees, I just can't remember. I believe he kept us out of any wars though, so he must have been a great man, or so his supporters think.
Ramzi Yousef (1993 WTC) and Terry Nichols (OKC) crossed paths in the Phillipines. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (9/11) was Yousef's uncle. It is interesting to note that Yousef entered the United States on an Iraqi passport and had been known among the New York fundamentalists as "Rashid, the Iraqi". Another name that could be thrown into the mix is Abdul Rahman Yasin, a U.S. citizen who moved to Iraq in the 1960's and returned to the U.S. in 1992. After the 1993 WTC bombing, Yasin fled to Iraq and was given monthly salary and housing by Saddam Hussein's regime.
Here are some interesting links to laurie.

I think Laurie Mylroie is terrific; thanks for the links.
Clinton was too focused on Microsoft to bother going after terrorists.
He blamed the OKC blast on Rush Limbaugh and hate right wing radio.
He told people not to over-react to the first WTC bombing and never once visited the site.
He pulled our troops out when we lost 18 and OBL mentions what paper tigers we are.
According to an old FR thread called "Batting a Thousand" the Egyptian officer that infiltrated the group was an FBI informant who had alerted them ( FBI )that an attack was imminent and suggested using some sort of fake powder to scuttle the whole event (he was supposedly in charge of supplying some of the explosives).......however due to some sort of mis-communication and bungling between some of FBI agents his plan was never carried out and the event occurred.
It's amazing that this story is never discussed to any degree........it a very good primer on fedgov incompetence or worse.
not as long as they have an evangelical Christian around to blame. Look as this vicious fool Berg, forgiving Zarqawi for beheading his son, "and even Bush, though that's harder." Setting up moral equivalence Bush to Zarqawi-- then saying he's "forgiven " him.
Hi Peach, I must say you do recommend good reads. Wish you would start a "good Conservative books" thread with book review.
I really found the book you had recommended that I purchased very interesting and would recommed FReepers get it and read it. "hillary's Secret War".
Current events, Political books, to keep up with the news is needed more now than ever before because of the lib slant on news.
Do you recommend any good financial books or writers in particular?
Where is Yasin now?
I'd love to see a conservative book club started on FR and am so glad you enjoyed the book, stopem.
I really like Ben Stein's books too.
Stein's "Can America Survive" is one I will be getting this weekend.
Thanks Peach, looking forward to summer reading.
That's a good read, stopem and I hope you enjoy it.

Yeah, I bookmarked this one.
