Speak of Coulter? We must
The Palm Beach POst ^ | 06/11/06 | Palm Beach Post Editorialist

If Ann Coulter wrote about herself the way she writes about others, she might be an "elitist shrew who is ignoring state election law to save her own skin." Or worse.

Instead, the self-appointed defender of American democracy and values is fighting allegations, which The Post's Jose Lambiet first exposed in February, that rather than correct her address, she voted in the wrong precinct during the Feb. 7 Palm Beach election. Rather than admit her error, correct her registration and move on, Ms. Coulter has hired former U.S. Attorney Marco Jimenez to defend her from the indignity of having to follow the law.

Ms. Coulter is the book world equivalent of a shock jock. She started with hyberbole in her first screed eight years ago, so it isn't surprising that for her fifth and latest she had to seek dizzying levels of incoherence and meanness. But the Ann Coulter who in Godless castigates four New Jersey 9/11 widows as "the Witches of East Brunswick," saying "I've never seen people enjoying their husbands' deaths so much" is happy to play victim as soon as the heat gets high.

During her Tuesday spewfest on Fox News' Hannity & Colmes, Ms. Coulter made clear that she doesn't want her home address to grace a public record, even if it is required for voting. "Do you need my Social Security number?". "Should we get my stalkers on the line with my address and apartment number?" Then she blamed The Post. "When you go to the bush-league newspapers," she said, "you get all the venom of The New York Times, but they're all retarded."

But what did happen? Did someone who just looked like Ann Coulter try to vote using the home address of Ann Coulter's real estate agent? When the imposter was told that she was in the right place but had to fill out a change-of-address form, why did she leave and vote in the wrong place? It must have been an imposter, because surely the Ann Coulter who was a stickler for the law during the 2000 election recount - labeling the Florida Supreme Court a "kangaroo court" because she disagreed with its rulings - never would knowingly violate the law, then lash out at those who try to enforce it. Would she?

She's trying to keep her address secret, exactly what the media is trying to make public knowledge.

Well then she shouldn't own property, etc. I am not sure about FL but here in TX your address is public knowledge to anyone that cares to go to the court house and look up the property info from the deed records, tax rolls, etc. Voter info has always been open also. Lots of ways to look up a person should anyone care to.

So sounds like a cop out to me. So she should be allowed to lie, swear to the lie and then not be called on it..... No way, imo.

How many illegal aliens have voted for Democrats in the past 10 years in close elections resulting in a Democratic (but not democratic)victory?

Don't know and that is illegal if done. But that doesn't give Ms. Coulter the right to flaunt the laws, lie and swear to it, imo.

Hell, why not? The legal system has been twisted in every other way to accommodate liberal women.

Our women should get a turn ;o)

And let's not forget those South Dakotan dead indians. Wonder what they said their addresses were?

Your syndrome is called "milquetoast". It goes away when one removes himself/herself from a fence.

I don't know about Murtha but IMO Kerry was not a former war hero and he did not give meritorious service to his country
''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''

I'm not talking about objective reality here, obviously Kerry was a disgrace to his country and to the military, and a traitor as well. I'm talking about the democrat tactic of having someone with purple hearts, or combat record, or relatives who died during battle, to represent their communist position on issues, so it would be more difficult to attack their credibility.

They're going to try to demonize Ann the same way they did Joe McCarthy. Conservatives cannot let that happen.

The only way dems could improve on the gigolo/shyster ticket they ran in 04 would be some sort of an Arnold/Iscariat ticket.
