A man is suing an auto-parts store for assault and battery after he attempted to hold up the business and employees responded by beating him with a metal pipe.
Dana Buckman, 46, walked into an auto shop brandishing a semiautomatic pistol July 5, 2005, only to have it turned on him by employees Eli Crespo and Jerry Vega, police said.
The men beat Buckman with a metal pipe and held him with his own gun.
Buckman escaped, only to be arrested a week later.
He pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery and was sentenced to 18 years in prison as a repeat violent felon.
Now Buckman has claimed the men chased him out of the store and continued to beat him.
He is suing the auto shop and the two men for the injuries he suffered and for intentionally inflicted emotional distress.
Crespo and Vega could not be reached for comment.
"Now Buckman has claimed the men chased him out of the store and continued to beat him."
I think this case should be settled out of court for an appropriate amount. Somewhere between $0.02 and $0.25 would be about right.
Thanks for the link.
I did a search, but did not see your post.
Buckman should be charged with extortion for filing this lawsuit.

no problem..I do title searches all the time, don't see an article, post it, then get told it's only the 4th or 5th time it's been put up..:)
He and his lawyer should be countersued. This is nuts.
Don't bring a gun to a pipe fight.
They must have been some "hard pipe hittin N1@@as"<--Pulp Fiction
or in the case of Zarqawi, don't bring an AK-47 to an F16 fight...:)
A new twist.
"Don't bring a gun to a pipe fight..."
If you outlaw metal pipes, only outlaws will have metal pipes.
I have found the Search option to be a tad touchy.
I've found that sometimes it takes a couple of variations to pull down an old story.
The stuff that bugs me is when you have 4 or 5 copies of the same story on the front page. Or when something happens Friday afternoon and is headline news in the MSM, it gets posted all weekend long and then people start reposting on Monday morning.
Now oddball local stuff is good anytime. :-)
He's lucky they didn't have PitBulls guarding the place.
He got off easy.
Don't fret. Sometimes (often, I think) the same story will be carried by different outlets, but have different headlines.
The store owner should have had his own gun and rightfully killed this perp, then he wouldn't be around to sue anyone.
Thanks for the ping. I saw the original story (folks pinged me to that one) but since it was last July, I don't really want to count it as a true instance of Armed Citizenship. It might make runner-up on my next ping.
