The Democrats' best friend may be funding the further downfall of the United Auto Workers. Isn't that special?

A friend keeps a Yugo in my airplane hanger --- has like 1500 miles on it. Bought it with the idea it would be a novelty collector's item.

If it's a decent car at a decent price, he's making a business decision.

If all he's doing is importing cr@p, he's trying to bring down an American industry some more..

Chery Automobile has unveiled its new crossover model, the V525, at the Hangzhou Motor Show. It is the first a series of new machines that will see the Chinese automaker mount a challenge in North America.

The V525 is a 6-seater MPV developed largely in-house (Chery says it owns all intellectual property rights) with the help of Lotus Engineering on the chassis and powertrain side and a couple of Italian companies for styling and design.
V525 is the first member of the V5 family, powered by a 2,350cc Chinese-made Mitsubishi engine offering 95 kW @ 5500rpm and 198Nm @ 3,000rpm.

The platform, which will be the base for other ‘V’ family cars, has a wheelbase of 2.8 metres. Overall length is 4,662mm with an overall width of 1,820mm and a height of 1,590mm.

Standard equipment includes four airbags, ABS, electronic brake-force distribution, traction control, electric windows, GPS navigation and a DVD player. The package represents a big step up for Chery.

V525 goes on sales in China this month and will apparently be one of the first Chery cars to reach North America.

My husband just read an article about the cars the Chinese prefer to drive. They like Buicks. They are the number one car in China.
