This picture of 'dead civilians' killed at close range also cannot tell when these people were killed or by whom. It is entirely possible that these people were killed before the Marines arrived by the insurgents themselves.

I thought I heard that the families of the "victims" are refusing all requests for exhumation for the purpose of gathering forensic evidence. Anybody know if there is truth to this?
