Benson is an opportunist who years ago did right wing cartoons when the paper was more conservative and flip-flopped when the paper changed.

The correct response IMO is for all enraged individuals to acknowledge the right to free speech, which the Marines they have trashed have died to protect through the years, and then exercise their own freedom of choice and refuse to purchase the newspaper, refuse to patronize any of the businesses who advertise in the paper and finally contact the advertisers and inform them of your decision to no longer buy their product until an apology is printed on the front page above the fold.

Newspapers are the enemy of the United States. The supply lines of the newspapers are the advertisers, we need to attack the supply lines and starve the papers. Who are the advertisers of this newspaper? Starve the MSM by making it ecconomically impossble to buy ads in the paper. IOW if you put an ad in the paper it will COST you business.

Probably the best idea. Marines are in ever walk of life - and especially in business positions. I hope they and their veteran bros as the VFW/ American Legion investigate if the companies they work for advertise in that rag and then pull all advertising. They should also do a letter writing campaign to businesses that are buying ads in the paper.

I am sure there are a few marine retiress in the media market there who would like nothing more to do than go on 'one last mission' for the Corp and organize a campaign to shut that newspaper down.

Others also have the right to free speech, particularly to talk to your advertisers. They also have the right to association – and with it disassociation – from your newspaper for businesses that they may own or subscriptions that they may have delivered to their homes.

I don’t think you really know much about Marines or else you wouldn’t have published this piece. You don’t know about the tremendous good works they have done, you don’t know for a fact (yet) what happened in Haditha, and you don’t know just how eager they will be to shut your newspaper down exercising their freedoms in a manner I describe above.
