Who Lost Kosovo?

But Kerry may have some competition. On Memorial Day, another former Democratic presidential candidate, retired General Wesley Clark, tried to rewrite the history of the war in Kosovo in order to make himself into a great military hero. "Last week," he said, "I returned to Kosovo for the first time since I retired from military service. For me, this trip was very personal. In 1999, I commanded the NATO forces that stopped the genocide against ethnic Albanians by Slobodan Milosevic and his Serbian forces."

That sounds pretty impressive-commanding the forces that stopped genocide. Too bad it's not true.

Genocide is defined as seeking to eliminate an entire group of people. But the number of dead found in Kosovo after the war was said to be only 2,108. That was the figure given by Carla del Ponte, the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, at a December 1999 press conference. But it wasn't clear they were all Kosovo Albanians. Indeed, many may have been Serbs. That's a terrible loss of life, but it's no genocide.

--

Bush, of course, will be the favorite target for some time to come. Typical is Frank Rich's forthcoming book about the Bush presidency, The Greatest Story Ever Sold: The Decline and Fall of Truth from 9/11 to Katrina.

That will be the media theme at least until after the November congressional elections.

Rich and his colleagues will try to make you ignore the fact that while Bush has had a policy of fighting terrorists in places like Iraq and Afghanistan, Clinton, Clark & Company had a policy of helping them gain political power through false charges of genocide.

Well, I'm glad someone is speaking out on the war crimes clinton and clark committed in former Yugoslavia.

Because the Republicans seem to have amnesia over this whole business, and 95% of the conservative commentators still seem to think that committing an aggressive war against an old ally, bombing civilian targets in Belgrade, hitting dams, power plants and hospitals in midwinter, and turning over whole countries to Muslim terrorists was a great idea.

And Frank Rich's qualifications for passing judgment on President Bush are...what exactly? That he went to musicals for free in exchange for writing little squibs about them in the NY Times?

No I bet he dont have right to critisize Bush.
But I do.
I have lobbyed fro 2004 elections for Bush by telling all of my Srbian-American friends in USA to vote for Bush, and most of them were Domocrates. And they did voted.
Got nothing except USA still turning a blind eye on islamic scum on Kosovo.

Wesley Clark ought to connect the dots. IMHO Clark is a war criminal for helping Muslims kill Christians. The Serbs were on our side of WWII. Muslims are still killing Christians, Muslims, Hindus. That is what they do and have been doing since 400 AD. What a dope!

".....that stopped the genocide against ethnic Albanians by Slobodan Milosevic and his Serbian forces"

Bullsquat...

What he DID accomplish, was to give the Islamists another foothold in Europe -- at the expense of the Christians/Jews who lived in Kosovo..

To bad the perfumed General didn't have the balls to fight against the bastards that have made ethnic genocide their religious goal....the Islamists.

Clark is a lying, pansy assed liar and shameless tool of the criminal and cowardly Clinton Administrations..

a POX on his ass...

I am with you on that one, Kronos! All the American Serbs I know voted for Bush for the same reason, thinking that we would see "truth and justice" re Kosovo and the Serbs. And nada, nishta, nothing. The only thing that he did do was give Draza's granddaughter the Legion of Merit award for her grandfather -- and the newsmedia here never even mentioned it here.

Not likely that we will get fooled again like that!

At least they found all of the mass graves that Clinton told us were in Kosovo.

But we found them in Iraq.

And they were all full of Arabs and Kurds, many of whom where murdered while Clinton was in the White House.

But the toothless pancake cooker will be by to scream that the Muslims are good and the Serbs are bad.

As soon as he's done his Dhimmi duty and gets off the kneepads, of course.

Oh, by the way, didn't Clinton fire Clark for doing such a great job? I hear Mad Albrighjt is sad to see all her hard work of 8 years going down the drain. But it never occurs to her that their policies were the wrong ones. Give her a fireman's hat and a bucket so she can help put out the fire in the Palestinian parliament. LOL

A real soldier worth his metal, David Hackworth (rip), once referred to Clark as the perfumed prince...David was far too kind. Clark is a dangerously incompetent and self-serving person. That is precisely why he never made it to the Joint Chiefs. Amazing how he rose as far as he did. Thank God Rumsfeld is cleansing the temple.
