It would be interesting. Part of the problem stems from the fact that liberals dominate the library profession. This is not to say that conservatives are absent (I have met some who make William F. Buckley look like Chez Guevara), but they are the minority and are practically absent in policy-making positions in libraries. I have known many a library policy-maker who view children as "little adults" and not as youth who need guidance and boundaries.

Just Say Yes is about having a positive attitude towards sexuality -- gay, straight, bisexual or whatever. It's about saying "yes" to sex you do want, and "no" to sex you don't. It says there's nothing wrong with you if you decide to have sex, and nothing wrong with you if you decide not to.

Perhaps, but more likely there is a planned, coordinated effort to sexualize children. SafeLibraries.org has listed numerous ways that the ALA may be sexualizing children in public libraries and public school libraries nationwide.

Chief among these reasons is in the ALA's "Library Bill of Rights" that says "age" may not be used to discriminate against giving children any material they wish.

Worse, the ALA adheres to this ridiculous rule that drives the actions of local libraries even in the face of the US Supreme Court decision that the ALA lost in 2003, US v. ALA. The SCOTUS said it is perfectly appropriate to keep children away from inappropriate material. The ALA says the SCOTUS is wrong and libraries should continue to allow children access to inappropriate material.

How does the ALA continue to get away with this? Why do children continue to be raped and molested and the public sits back like it's just another day and does nothing? Why does the media write stories about library crimes against children but they do not disclose the connection to the sexually inappropriate material or the unfiltered computers, and often because they are not even aware of the problem in the first place? In general, why are people so unaware of the cause and effect relationship of the ALA and victimized children nationwide?

SafeLibraries.org is working on new material that will expose the ALA's propaganda efforts. Anyone care to provide us with ideas along these lines?

The problem is much bigger than that. Ohio law PROTECTS teachers and librarians (among others). They can show materials considered "harmful to juveniles" and NOT be arrested! It is the law.
