I guess there isn't outrage, at least from the public, because no one has heard about it until now.

"Today, Congressman Culberson will make a guest appearance on Fox News Channel's Your World with Neil Cavuto [rerun @ 10:00pm Pacific time, first 10-minutes] to discuss the totalization agreement we have signed with Mexico, which will make all 11 million illegal immigrants and their families eligible for Social Security.

The second amendment Culberson added to the bill in committee prohibits federal tax dollars from being used to provide Social Security benefits to illegal immigrants under a totalization agreement with Mexico or any other country. Under current law, illegal immigrants are ineligible for Social Security benefits unless the Administration signs a totalization agreement with their country of origin which makes them eligible or they are legalized as the Senate and the White House propose in the Senate immigration bill.
Congressman Culberson said, "Unfortunately, the Administration signed a totalization agreement with Mexico on June 29, 2004, and the White House will not let Congress see it, which makes me very suspicious. Reliable reports tell me that this agreement will put every illegal alien from Mexico and their entire extended family anywhere in the world on our overburdened Social Security system.
I strenuously oppose the effort to legalize illegal aliens through the Senate bill, and I will vigorously oppose any effort to open up our Social Security system to illegal aliens and their families through this totalization agreement. The Appropriations Committee agreed with me today that we should not place this immense and totally unfair burden on our Social Security system."
