Villaraigosa is torn between party loyalty and the potential rewards offered by his new alliance with the Republican governor. He plans to campaign with Schwarzenegger for bond measures on the November ballot that could offer Los Angeles billions of dollars for schools, housing and traffic relief. And the governor would decide where much of that bounty went.

There is also a matter of personal ambition: Villaraigosa is widely seen as a top Democratic candidate for governor in 2010 — provided that Angelides loses.

Oh goody! The RINOs are promoting the little MEChista!

Bustamante! Bustamante! Bustamante! < /FO>

And what did all that fear-mongering it get us FO? Instead of a fat, greasy, incompetent, easily-defeatable two-bit crook LaRazoid Bustamante your hero is promoting an attractive, smooth, sneaky, and somewhat competently evil leftist Villaraigosa with BILLIONS in bond money! They'll even loan us the money from their tax-exempt banks! Isn't that nice of them?

Now there's irony for you.

The New Majority doesn't care how much of your money it costs to get this creep elected, even if it takes buying off the LA educrats! The globothug betrayal of California to Mexico proceeds unabated.

Oh thank you Arnold! What a great Republican is so magnanimous a leader with our money that he promotes extreme leftist Democrats, probects Democrats from accountability for ruining the lives of countless Hispanic kids, and inches forward defaulting California to Mexico!

Oh thank you Arnold!

Arnold seems to be joining the unlimited health care for illegal alien children crowd to attract even more filthy invaders. Funded solely by state taxes, no federal money involved in this monstrosity.

Villaraigosa has ambitions to be CA governor, and he has an excellent shot at it too in four years -- UNLESS Angelides becomes governor this November.

THIS is the real reason that Villaraigosa is not enthusiastic about Angelides.

And conservatives need to support Arnold now when he needs it, so when McClintock will run in 2010, Arnold will support him -- he will need it.

If so-called conservatives support Angelides this November, -- by staying home, voting third party, or even voting for Angelides, to defeat the "RINO" Arnold (I put "RINO" in quotes, because Arnold is NOT a RINO, but some claim he is, who rather have Angelides) -- and Arnold will win anyway, then maybe Arnold will indeed be fed up enough with the so-called conservatives, who are never there to support him, that he won't lift a finger to help McClintock when he runs for governor. And don't kid yourself that it won't make any difference.

By not supporting Arnold today, you may either get us Angelides for the next 8 years, or Arnold wins despite your non-support, then in 2010 you can be pleased that you have only yourselves to blame if Villaraigosa defeats McClintock.

Schwarzenegger has done more to advance the left's agenda than any Democrat Governor could have ever dreamed of. Why is he torn? This "alliance" has been in work for some time.

If what I hear around here (Orange County) is any indication, Arnold is going to have a very, very tough time getting himself reelected.

I didn't vote for him in the primary and I will not vote for him in the general.
