Now, I'm not asking this to run down your wife . . . I'm truly curious.
I'm given to understand that the majority of illegal births are to women who had none or very little prenatal medical care.
If that's true, why would they see a prenatal genetic counselor? Wouldn't a doctor be more important, if you had to see someone?
How "many times" would these costs have been off if ALL of the 14,580 pregnant women enrolled in the program since '04, HAD given birth in AK.......rather than the 2,698 that *actually* ended up giving birth there?
... and we'll put 'em on Medicaid, give 'em free prenatal care and childbirth, and make their kids de facto American citizens...
A birthright hasn't been sold so cheaply since the days of Jacob and Esau.
I believe his wife works in the LA area, CA has offered up *free prenatal* for years.
Arkansas and eight other states chose to offer the new coverage. Texas, with its heavy immigrant population, is the latest state to begin offering the coverage.
I guess it's become just too cumbersome for those pregnant to sneak into TX & give birth........so TX too, will now spend our taxdollars for *free prenatal*, allowing these women to sneak in months earlier to collect their freebies.
Hmmmm....I don't recall being given a *choice* in this matter, how 'bout you ??
Sold Cheaply ???? More like given freely, at a great co$t to u$ tax payer$.....
They prefer to treat a fetus as landfill.
I have no idea what percentage of pregnant illegal aliens receive prenatal care, but just about frequency of their appearance in my wife's clinics.
In CA, we have this prenatal screening called "Expanded AFP" which measures three blood markers that can indicate the presence of things like Down syndrome and other chromosomal problems. This is offered free of charge to any pregnant woman. As with ANY woman who receives a suspect score on this exam, illegal aliens are sent for genetic counseling to determine what might be going on. When a counselor finds reason to believe that one of these patients may well be bearing a fetus with some disorder, lots of different tests can follow, including ultrasound, amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling, etc. Doctors can get involved, but the counselor does the initial assessment. Medi-Cal pays for all of this, at least up to a certain $$ amount.
If you want to get rid of all the illegal Mexicans in Arkansas, call up Tyson and tell them to screen their employees.
Lot of meat packing plants are full of illegals...my son worked at one, and when they told him to work overtime without time and a half, he objected...they told he if he complained, they'd call "La Migra" and report him...he said go ahead, because he is a US citizen...
They never asked if he had papers when they hired him, but since he was bilingual and looked Hispanic they assumed he was illegal. If they knew he was legal, they might not have hired him.
The dirty little secret is a lot of these places prefer illegals to US citizens...both because they can be exploited, but also because they work harder than hiring someone who if you fire them can go on welfare or unemployment..
