I do KNOW that teachers get far more vacation time and have the shortest work day of any other worker that I know. I have many teachers in my family and I KNOW that they are not putting in the off-work hours of other professionals....You can bleat like sheep all you want about how hard teachers work but the rest of us KNOW better. Like me they too have teachers for relatives, friends, and acquaintances.

Do they teach this liberal debating tactic in schools of education? I call it the "Red Herring Psychoanalysis" diversion. Honestly, I am reminded of the character Lucy in the Peanuts cartoon strip. She had a booth with a sign that read, "Psychiatrist is in. Five cents, please". Well, your attempts at probing my state of "madness" is worth less than five cents.

The issue at hand is teacher salaries, NOT wintertime's state of "madness".

The guy hasn't seen ALL teachers work. Some do have families to raise and other responsibilities as well. I don't often get home before 8 and often have 3 or 4 hours STILL left of work to do. I usually wake up at 2 or 3 in the morning to do a few hours of work. Teachers don't have a lot of "technical" work or so, but I know of many who do work hard.
