BillF also took lots of still images, which I hope he will post in the body of the thread. He also interviewed the Gitmo re-enactors as well as the homeless guy who was wearing the "Hohensee for President" cardboard box, so I hope he will recount those stories on this thread.
Take it away, Bill...
If you haven't seen her video per the link in the first post, you really should watch it. tgslTakoma is becoming a regular Cecil B. DeMille. High production values, drama, mystery, comedy, and conflict. It's all there, even big-breasted women, or at least one.
It was hard for me not to peaceably shout out at the Pinkos and assorted leftists, especially when some of the tourists yelled their disapproval at the leftists. However, considering that we were moving in and among the leftists, I kept my dissenting opinions to myself most of the time, staying close to tgslTakoma during most of the event. I strayed further from her when things seemed under control and calm near the end, especially with police officers around.
Gail Murphy failed yet again, drawing only about 60 to 80 total to her demonstration. Her goal was cross-marketing, trying to get attendees at the Take Back America ("TBA") conference to join her in a march to the White House for a demonstration there. Maybe she got 30 to 50 of the about two-thousand TBA attendees to join her 20 to 30 regulars, i.e., Code Pinkos and members of similar groups.
The evil Murph totally phoned her efforts in, literally. When she was called to speak, she was on her cell phone, as she was during much of the protest. The call was too important to hang up when several dozen people are expecting her to speak? She probably didn't want to take credit for the unfolding fiasco of low attendance, tourist indifference, occasionally flaring to shouts of contempt by passing tourists, lackluster speakers, and a dispirited audience.
Were the leftists so dispirited because they were "celebrating" the 2500th U.S. troop death in Iraq and the Code Pinko friends, the "Iraqi resistance" endorsed by Code Pink (click here and here), had yet to kill the 2500th U.S. troop or was it simply because that they realize that they are losing politically? (When I say "celebrating," it's because the left view every setback to the U.S. military and our country as a source of hope. They hope for bad things to happen to our military because they think that will help them defeat President Bush and the GOP politically.)
(BTW, even single death or injury of one of our troops in Iraq is a terrible tragedy, but where is the perspective? Should 2500 deaths in 3 years and 3 months control our policy? We lost almost 7000 dead on one small island (Iwo Jima) in a couple months in World War II, but there was a war to be won because all Americans knew that evil must be opposed. In 2003 and 2004 together, over 84,000 died in U.S. traffic accidents. Should we close the highways?)
My photos follow. The ones with borders are hyperlinked, click on one and it will open in a new window. Sound files (WAV format) are also included below.
Except for a few conversations discussed below, I didn't interact with any of the leftists. I did however wear my Free Republic hat and a U.S. flag in my backpack.
Leftists march in with cardboard "coffins."
As "coffins" are lined up, Luke (who goes to many of these events) with his bike is in center background, evil Murph (pink backpack)
to right, and guy in yellow shirt holding a flag.
As I tried to take another photo of Luke with the "coffins," this |

What would a leftist ghoulish occasion ("2500 dead troops") be without a ghoul?

Hohensee, the homeless guy, running for President by Amendment as shown in photo above, gave me a photocopy of a hand-written note indicating where his platform could be found on the web. He said, "I'm not going to spend $700 million to lose in the general election like John Kerry, trying to brainwash people into voting for me. I just need 38 state legislatures to pass an amendment making me President." I said, "Won't it cost you more than $700 million to buy enough state legislators for this to work?" He said, "No, I don't think so." I replied, "Well, as long as you've got a realistic plan." I had a long, pleasant, and funny conversation with the two "surviving" GITMO prisoners above right and have several sound files for your amusement (all are WAV format with time and file size listed). Clicking on a link should play the sound file. Left click on a sound file link and select "save as" if you want to save the file to listening later. The gist of the conversation is that these are nice young people, fed lies by our liberal educational system and our mainstream media, making them say some incredibly silly things. INTRO SOUND FILE (2.12 Mb, 3 min 20 sec): We joked as I asked them where their third detainee went. (He was injured kneeling.) They joked about the hungry strikers taking protein shakes. Unfortunately, a loud leftist speaker is ranting in the background. PRES SOUND FILE (668 K, 62 s): I asked if they supported Hohensee (pictured above) for Pres. Leftist guy said, "I wonder if Feingold knows that he's [i.e., Hohensee] his running mate?" HABEAS SOUND FILE (2.45 M, 3 m, 45 s): A passing patriot yelled at the leftist speaker to shut up, but the recorder didn't pick that up. One of the GITMO people then said that as they marched to the White House someone yelled out the window at them (in liberal bastion DC!), "you're doing Al Quada's work." I finally engaged the leftists in debate. They try to argue for habeas corpus and Geneva convention, but the guy finally, and lamely, concedes that those are inapplicable to GITMO. IRAQ SOUND FILE (2.33 M, 3 m, 41 s): We argue about Iraq with the guy throwing out the idea that we weren't multi-lateral and me easily refuting it. CODE PINK SOUND FILE (1.76 M, 2 m, 47s): The woman denies that Code Pink wants the "Iraqi resistance" to win, but she won't give me an email so that I can give her the documentation. NEXT PRES SOUND FILE (1.3 M, 2 m, 4s): As leftists prepare to go, I talked to the guy about who he wanted for President the next time around. He's bothered by Hillary's hawkish stand (false stand, IMHO), likes Gore, and doesn't want Kerry. He likes Feingold. It doesn't get better than this. Fun talking with pleasant, but silly, leftists followed by an uplifting surprise at the end. Touring students from Russia came along (photo right). Instead of going across the street to see if they could hold a leftist sign in front of the White House, they politely asked if they could borrow an American flag to hold in the photo at right. They treated the flag, which I gladly loaned them, with more respect than the leftists treat our flag. RIP, Ronald Reagan. The world is still a better place because he peacefully ended the "evil empire." |

Since I've been promoted as the bodyguard, ready to throw myself in the path of a pink umbrella to protect tgslTakoma (and happy to do so), I'll shamelessly include two photos from my recent trip. The cover story was that it was a vacation, but the truth can now be revealed. I was training for the rigors of bodyguard duty per photos below.

Had they been in pool, I'm sure it would have looked like syncronized swimming!
Great job, and good effort. Loved the report!
I can't believe I nearly missed this thread...
Less than 50 posts? There must be a need for another ping list.
This is an outstanding report and I believe many more Freepers need to see it!
Make that 11 freepers still with dial-up. I got DSL last month! :-P
