We should have practiced scorched earth tactics on the muzzies as soon as possible.

Agreed. But I doubt we will ever again fight that way.

There was a military squad leader who called into RUSH today. He mentioned that two hummer's went after a group that had gone after them.

I am not sure but it sounded like the driver of the three Humvee was killed and the other two humvee's did not come back to support them.

I think we will have to wait for the details on this one.

It means that control is not what civilians think it is.

It is military dominance; it is not military observation of every square foot of terrain.

But it also suggests that the killing was done locally.

ping to #395

It might fit the Diana Irey campaign as a handout flyer against Murtha.

It makes me wonder if a convoy of 3 is enough. I also wonder why an exclusively U.S. convoy; why not conjoined U.S./Iraqi?

Precious lives that mean so much to us, and less than nothing to the BARBARIANS.

...and not much more than that to the new Democrats and the DBM who use them only for there own ends to bash our efforts there, our President, and our country. They in their own way are as evil as the terrorists.

(listening to ABC News and they have the obligatory man-on-the-street who says it's time to cut and run)

I'm with another poster. Time to round up all the men in the area, contain them, move out the women and children and flatten this area. No questions asked. Then interrogate each one to find out answers. I know there are so many problems with this scenario, but all of this makes me so very angry right now, and I am probably not thinking through what should be done.

I agree. We drop leaflets saying that the women and children have 48 hours to get out and then we flatten the place. We demand that the terrorists are turned over or we will continue to bomb. There are some innocent people over there and I feel sorry for them. Unfortunately, the Iraqis who do help us are kidnapped or their family members are kidnapped or they are murdered. Most of them are probably scared to death to assist us even if they wanted to. Fact is, we're never gonna win the hearts and minds over there. Never. People have been fighting in that region for THOUSANDS of years. Ever read up on the history of Iraq? One bloody revolt after another. Most of the population is so young there that they have absolutely no concept of freedom. They've lived under tyranny and poverty their entire lives and they grew up hating the U.S. And we're going to change all of that in a few years? Gimme a break. If we're going to fight this war, we need to fight it with more firepower, more troops and just get it the hell over with.

I only hope this did not happen to them because they feared taking out the terrorists and then be charged with murder by our own government.

Reported on Michelle Malkins site that one of the lessons learned is that you do not split a small force in these situations, especially when you know that capture means death. Either you all go or you all stay.

In today's age, a soldier surrounded by enemies could activate the homing device in some manner in case of extreme emergency.

Lets see how this works in the real world. Some hadji type knows that US soldiers have this device. A head shot is made taking out the US soldier with a clean kill. Body is dragged to an ambush site and the homing device is activated. Rescuers show up and hadji opens up with RPGs. Still think it is a good idea?

Yeap the squad leader who called in said that if the reports he heard are true, the squad leader made a mistake in splitting his forces.

He also said given the situation of what happens when you are captured by them, he doubts any soldier would allow themselves to be taken alive.

But I think the human cost of our soldiers has been greater than they would have been otherwise if we'd kept military policy above political policy there.

In agreement.

Thank you for standing up for our troops, Spiff.

In this undated photo released by the U.S. Army, Pfc. Thomas Tucker is shown. A group that includes al-Qaida in Iraq claimed Monday, June 19, 2006, it had kidnapped Tucker and Army Pfc. Kristian Menchaca, who were reported missing Friday while manning a checkpoint. Iraqi Maj. Gen. Abdul-Aziz Mohammed, announced that the bodies of Menchaca, 23, of Houston, and Tucker, 25, of Madras, Ore., had been discovered on a street in Youssifiyah, just south of Baghdad. This is true...hubby talked about this last night....This is an old Indian trick....a small force attacks, you split your forces and follow...then the real attack begins......hubby is terribly upset over this and can't believe they split up and left 1 Spc and 2 PFC's alone........they are trained not to do this...

"They don't have a prayer".

Nor do they have GOD. Their god is aligned with satan... if not satan himself.
