It's hard to get a good picture of the issues with the UAE when idiots like the author of this article keep misrepresenting the facts.

The UAE is the banking center of the Middle East.

Money flowed through UAE banks to the 9/11 hijackers. True statement, but pretty much useless. The money flowed through UAE banks into US banks in many cases. So are the US banks at fault?

The comment about the UAE being a launching point for 9/11 is pretty bad. The UAE is one of the largest if not the largest airline hub in the middle east. Therefore most of the 9/11 terrorists flying from the Middle East to the US had layovers in the UAE.

It's not that they were all from there. It's not that they had a meeting there. They had flight layovers there. That's makes it a launching point? Should we blame the UAE for allowing them to pass through when they already had US student visas granted by our government?

The UAE is one of two countries that recognized the Taliban. They rescinded that recognition immediately after 9/11.

The UAE has contributed to Palestinian Funds in the past, along with most of the Middle Eastern Governments, that have been used to fund terrorist activities. The same can unfortunately be said to a lesser extent about our own government.

The UAE does have a disturbing past, and while they seem to be doing much better, concern and vigilance is appropriate.

However, if you can't support your concerns with truth and integrity, you aren't worth listening to.

True, and recognizing the Talibunnies should have told everyone these people can't be trusted, but now we should trust them? LOL makes perfect business sense to me, for no arab is going to lie to an infidel. JMO

it's very easy to "get a good picture of the issues".

The UAE within the past 3 months, pledged approx. $20 million to Hamas. Whether or not Hamas is the government in the Palestinian areas, they remain a terrorist organization, pledged and sworn to the destruction of Israel, and to the creation of a Palestinians state "from the river to the sea".

Your nitpicking of this article calls into question your objectivity. The UAE does not recognize Israel and currently supports terrorism, actively. This is irrefutable.

However, the larger point is that we have a terror sponsoring state, funding CAIR, who has it's own skeletons in the closet on terrorism.

Yet you dismiss the article and the points made in the article, because Dubai is the air traffic hub of the Middle East?

This is a puerile and weak argument with which to cast aspersions on the article.
