Now that the Mexican flags have once again been neatly folded and tucked away in the sock drawer, and civilization has successfully weathered a 'Day without Immigrants,' maybe the time has come for us to actually have a rational dialogue on illegal immigration. Preferably in English if you don't mind.
A variety of myths and misconceptions have been purposefully propagated by those who would like us to see illegal aliens as mere 'undocumented workers' who have every right to the privileges once reserved for actual citizens of the United States. Immigration 'activists' use bumper sticker slogans and simplistic sound bites repeated over and over in an attempt to win the hearts and minds of the American people. We are all descended from immigrants one way or another, but to muddy the stream of thought with the assertion that there is little difference between an illegal and a legal immigrant is a smart tactical, if dishonest, move and one that sows confusion in those attempting to make sense of this national debate.
I'd like to address just a few of the myths that have been spread about illegal immigration.......

They arte not myths...they are out and out lies by people and organizations dedicated to fundamentally changing and destroying the United States (IMHO) as it has existed under our constitution and our American heritage, and destroying our traditional American way of life.

That right there is the Biggest Problem we face.
The American People have the will and the ability to do anything that is asked of them.

Almost got sick when the neocons on Brit Hume last night agreed that the American people want a "path to citizenship" amnesty for illegal aliens bill passed.
1. 40% of all workers in L.A. County (L.A. County has 10 million
people) are working for cash and not paying taxes. This was because they are predominantly illegal immigrants, working without a green card.
2. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.
3. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens.
4. Over 2/3's of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal
alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal whose births were paid for by taxpayers.
5. Nearly 25% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally.
6. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages.
7. The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are most likely illegal aliens from south of the border.(Conservative estimates there are 100K gang members in L.A. and they are all coming to your town.)
8. Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal.
9. 21 radio stations in L.A. are Spanish speaking.
10. In L.A.County 5.1 million people speak English. 3.9 million speak Spanish (10.2 million people in L.A.County).

This is understated. Americans pay on the order of $100bn/year just to "educate" the children of illegal aliens.
Someone needs to get the President a copy of this.
I just wanted to popinted out that CIS that you reference for one stat is not only against illegal immigration but almost all legal immigration. In their case as well as FAIR, NUmbers and other spin off groups it just is not about illegals. CIS and the other groups have a radical population control view. They are partially using the illegal immigration debate to gain power and influence in the conservative movement(By the way they are succeeding). Much like they have tried to take over the Environmential movement. There aim is to reduce the population of the US to what they view as sustainabilty that is a population of 150 million. A pretty radical view. Especially since Moslems are reproducing like rabbits and the Western World is in danger of birth controlling theme selves to obvlion. One might ask that if tis groups agenda is not one that could very well destroy us in the end.

Needs repeating. They have infiltrated our government and especially the INS and customs, all being facilitated by the Clintons. The idea is to overrun the country and eventually vote conservatives out and socialists into office. It is part of a longterm plan to neutralize our influence in the world and our opposition to the left. Our military will then be under their control.
Do you have contrary documented stats to those that are provided?
They have a path to citizenship already... quite a few of them. In the case of non-asylees, that path leads back through wherever they came from.

good essay. the author makes many of the points I have made in discussion here on FR.
sadly, there are a goodly number of self-described "conservatives" who will loudly decry this essay and deny the points the author raises.
one must wonder whether shouting so loudly with their heads buried so deeply up their... in the sand has adversely affected their hearing.
