But, plans have been delayed in order to fix the Microsoft spell-checker...

Don't know if it's still true, but the default dictionary used in MS Word doesn't know "Carnegie" -- it suggests "Carnage" as a replacement. As a CMU grad, it is the first word after my own name that I add to the dictionary when I get a new PC.

This could give a whole new meaning to the phrase Blue Screen of Death.

The jokes just write themselves on this one.

I think Microsoft should work harder at demonstrating they have actual human intelligence before working on the artificial kind.

Sorry to bring this thread back to artificial life but,
Minsky's Emotion Machine is published now, and Microsoft is probably way behind the power curve unless somebody in the Division of Philosophy is up to speed on Whitehead.
