You have to be thrilled by this piece. Criticism of NBC from a fellow traveller in the Left media is a rarety to be treasured.

From our perspective, it's obvious that Coulter achieved a breakthrough that few if any conservative authors can expect: book interviews on network TV! Hence the sour grapes on the Left.

Perfect.

The shelf life of Rush has been anything but short.

It goes far beyond political partisanship to outright demonization that hails conservatives as patriots and vilifies liberals as terrorists.

Radical chic has always been LEFT.

The number of terrorists in the pro-life movement are miniscule and roundly denounced.

If leftists are not terrorists outright (like Ted Kazinski, the Weathermen, the Black Panthers, Abbie Hoffman, the SLA, Earth First, assorted anarchists...) they are terrorist sympathizers (pro-Hamas, pro-suicide bombing, human shields for Saddam Hussein...).

Some are in league with the devil as useful idiots. They don't realize what they are supporting but they provide aid and comfort all the same (Uncle Joe Stalin loved these dupes).

Poor Ray. He just doesn't get it. He gets his news not from a primary source but from other liberal outlets.

Carlin couldn't find the "classy road" with a damn GPS.

Your idea of the 'gutter' is way skewed. Carlin LIVES in the gutter when he can safely do so.

I have yet to hear Ann Coulter say that civilians and soldiers dying in Iraq derserved to die for being there in the first place. THAT'S the gutter, direct from Carlin's mouth.

What Ann said about the Jersey hypocrites was right on the money. They lost my sympathy when they traded in their grief for political purposes.

Hmmm. It took quite a while for the usual Ann-haters to show up and offer their unwanted opinions.

Coulter is instead celebrated as a "controversial" (read: audience-generating) guest on magazine and talk shows to discuss a book that slams Democrats as subhuman, godless and scarcely worthy of oxygen.

So what's your point?

She's not a real pundit but an actress

And the Hollywood Reports is not a real newspaper, but it plays one in print!

Many stand-up comedians are liberal and excel when nobody is talking back. Put Robin Williams in a forum where he had to actually converse with a conservative with arguments and his "genuis" would vanish in an instant.

They're just joke tellers, after all. Sort of like actors, who think because they can memorize words and recite them with feeling that somehow makes their own thoughts important.

Isn't it the tradition here that someone post photographic representations of Ms. Coulter's appearance and let the people decide?

Guess nobody else did, so I will...

but he's not stupid enough to take on Ann Coulter where she can fire back

What's she going to fire back with? Overreaching one liners and talking over the other guest? As I stated above, Carlin may be a liberal, Carlin may have some views I disagree with, but I wouldn't want to match wits with him one on one, even in his current state. It was apparent in his standup right before Coulter came out Carlin is still as witty and as sharp as ever.

"..slams Democrats as subhuman, godless and scarcely worthy of oxygen."

Sounds right to me! Everything that Democrats believe is provably wrong. In even the rare cases where Democrats stumble close to the truth, they invariably recommend the wrong cure and inevitably always make things worse. If there are any Democrats reading this thread, I would love to have you cite an example of where you believe Democrats have managed to get something right and made the country better because of it. Alternatively, if even you can't think of an example where you got something right and then made the country better, feel free to cite an example of either where you got anything right or specifically where you have actually improved the country.

Far too many Americans, and that includes too many conservatives, can see the threats posed by terrorism, but fail to recognize the difference between Democrats and terrorists. The terrorists can certainly kill Americans, disrupt trade and commerce, and destroy property. But in the final analysis there is absolutely no possibility that terrorists are ever going to bring down the United States. In contrast, if WE the people do not quickly defeat enough Democrats to quickly reverse the damage Democrats have done to the American economy and the errors that Democrats have managed to ingrain into American thinking, the United States is unlikely to survive much more than another decade or two.

"...this author doesn't address her arguments."

None of the mediots ever will, because Ann's factually supported declarations are unanswerable. Instead, they will attack her with name-calling, sweeping generalizations and, of course, critiques of her clothes, make-up, weight, sex, personality, dating habits and other totally irrelevant trivialities.
