Actually that's not entirely true. Caffeine constricts the veins in your head, and when you drink lots of it your veins pretty much stay that way. When you stop the flow of caffeine your veins quickly begin to expand to where they should be causing a killer migraine type headache.
They do enjoy very strong company loyalty. And I know customers who will pay five dollars for a drink because they know that the high prices are in order to provide benefits for employees. This is also why Starbucks tends to have better customer service than the average quick food service job, their employees are more satisfied.
I think it is addictive because if I stop drinking it I get horrible headaches!!! I don't even drink that much. I drink maybe a latte at breakfast and an ice tea at lunch.
I can do without one of those drinks, but I get the headache if I don't have both. My mood is also horrible!! The only time I gave it up totally was when I was pregnant, and it took a few days to get over the headaches.
Our local Starbucks are very supportive of the troops. They routinely make care packages for the troops.
Nope. Also, I switch to decaffienated versions of whatever I was drinking, so the water intake was the same.
I definitely get the headaches. However, I'm also the type that cannot drink any caffiene after about 2pm or I won't sleep.
I enjoy dropping in on the more Artsy~Fartsy Starbucks in and around Washington, DC. Just to order a cup of coffee (Their Yukon Gold is quite good!) and ask where "The Washington Times" and "The American Spectator" are in a loud voice.
It's always good for a chuckle to see the Laptop Legumes, MoonBats, Yuppie Scum and well indoctrinated college kids spasm in shock!
Jack.
I know what you mean. I'll admit it... I'm addicted to dihydrogen monoxide! If I don't get at least 3 big glasses a day, and start feeling ill, and if I don't have any at all for more than a day or two, I start feeling rather sick. In fact, I was once so strung out by withdrawl symptoms, I went to the doctor, and they wouldn't let me leave until they hooked me up to an IV, and actually gave me 2 liters of it!
Yes, I'm hopelessly addicted, and my body really does crave it.
