I and tens of thousands of other Queens residents walked past that particular building on September 11th, 2001 as we evacuated Manhattan via the 59th Street Bridge and down Queens Boulevard.

It was already guarded by a couple of police cruisers within three hours of the attacks.

I looked around and hundreds of people around me were eyeing it with a knowing hatred.

That's reassuring to know. Watch your back out there, but you must make everyone remember where they are located in order to remain vigilant.
