Mike Luckovich has really outdone himself in today's AJC Editorial cartoon which shows an American Flag wearing torturer holding a book on torture etiquette and lecturing an Al Qaida torturer. This POS even named his cartoon Pot to Kettle, equating American abuse at Abu Graib to the murder of 2 soldiers. I don't know how to post pictures directly but this is truly vile, I hope some other FReeper will put it up for you all to see.

I'd rather not give him the benefit of my visit to add to his web count.
The description tells me all I need to know.
Sorry, this cartoon really got me upset. There is a poll under the cartoon asking if you like it or not, right now it is 96% unfavorable, even the typical AJC Liberal reader is disgusted. Comments don't open on it until 8am EST I bet he's going to get some serious flak over it, not that he cares.
I asked the mods to fix your headline. Hope that was OK.
There is a poll on the cartoon at the link (do you like it?).

A Look At More Than Cartoons:

Still not going to touch it.
This is a publicity ploy by the cartoonist. The more hits he gets, and the more responses he gets - the more likely he'll be able to turn that into more money for him.
If there are ads on that web site, forward the graphic of the cartoon and the link to the advertisers. That'll hurt the artist/author, and probably get him in trouble with the publisher of the web site, if he isn't the publisher.

Excuse my abbreviation, but here's the F-head. Looks like he had his eyebrows done for this pic.
I have been sitting here trying to think of a comment strong enough to express my disgust with this "clever" cartoonist... words fail me.

description: I just saw Mike Luckovich's cartoon posted on Wednesday, June 21, 2006. I'm glad that he finds the torture and killing of American servicemen so funny. You do have the right to reject his submittals, and since you didn't, I can only assume that you did not find anything wrong with it. Cox Communications provides my cable and internet service. Are you associated with this company?

The good thing is that people have responded over 95% that this was not a good editorial cartoon.
Good analogy.
Then, I would direct his attention to Page 17, Paragraph 9, Line 4.
Often, lengthwise, and repeatedly.
Yes 3.95% 118
No 96.05% 2873
And a ploy by the Urinal and Constipation. Ignore the stink from the dead men walking that is the MSM.
. . .a poll perhaps as a ploy of sorts to reduce the 'outrage' and in turn, cancellations(?). . .
I would hope many will opt for a cancellation; if only for a week or two. (Buy it at the grocery or Starbucks if you cannot live without the sports section. . .)
The important thing is to send a real message of support for our Military - having lost many good men; but two, so abjectly degraded this past week.
As I speak; this paper is waiting - so to speak - outside on our sidewalk; for my husband to come and get it. . .
(Meantime; I wonder if Mike will be roasted/toasted and be challenged to be accountable; say. . .as much as Ann Coulter has experienced these past few weeks; for being soooo mean. . .)
Where's the "Moral Equivalency Alert"?
Gee I would have expected a more TURDLIKE COMPLECTION on this POS!!!
Something truly and darkly evil is afoot in our treasured country when a newspaper would accept and publish this cartoon.
That's some sick sh!t
4% actually like it ??????
Thanks Cindy.
BIG Ping
I can't respond to this right now but we have got to have an organized response to this.
My Gaydar just went off!
So whats wrong with the 5% of sick emeffers who like this cartoon.
bttt
You have to remember that this is Atlanta. The Rectum of the South.
You make me feel so dirty when all I did was vote.
The truth is that lukovich lives safely in comfort, luxury and freedom thanks to the very guys that he's slandering.
Meanwhile, the soldiers are forced to live in awful conditions under constant threat of being tortured barbarically.
It must be demoralizing to see such a thing. This makes me wonder if that is Lukovich's purpose.
It really upsets me to see this kind of premeditated hypocrisy.
I live in Charleston, SC, the sister-city of Atlanta, if the citizens of Atlanta don't, overwhelmingly denounce this aberration, then our 'sister' is a streetwalking, diseased whore.
Sure! The cartoonist voted for it ... so did his boyfriend.
Watergate, Irangate ... Corrugate!
The sniveling libs are really pissed since the military axed their number one ally, Zotqauwieeee.
It's easy to take cheap shots at a target that not only is popular among fellow leftists who share the bias and hatred evident in the cartoon, but who won't threaten his freedom of speech and his very life for doing so.
I'm very confident that Mr. Lukovich's arrogance is not nearly as evident when it comes to pointing out the glaring faults of those that are, like him, sworn enemies of the United States and all it has stood for since its inception who throw their prayer mats down five times a day to worship Allah/Satan.
I guess this cartoon has also been posted on some of the leftist blogs, the poll is now up to almost 10% of people who think this cartoon is OK
poll seems to be down now. I live in Atlanta and will be letting them here from me when I get home this weekend.

I'd order a knife like that, buttttttttttttttttttttttttttt
; )
This is an absolute OUTRAGE!!!! How dare they compare what happened to our soldiers to that NOTHING that happened to those terrorist scum!
Bill O'Reilly just had a whole segment on the cartoon and an equally OUTRAGEOUS editorial in the Chicago Trib...
He said that Atlanta is furious- businesses who advertise etc..
I see your point, but by God we need to stand up and say NO! to this kind of reprehensible crap! If we don't who will????? This is an abomination!
Said Trib editorial subject of this thread earlier today...
