It's been cooler than normal here, but 400 years ago, weren't we in the middle of "The Little Ice Age"?

Bingo.

All the talk of Global Warming needs to be seen in the context of the planet coming out of an Ice Age that ran from about 1600 to 1850. And before that, there was the Medieval Maximum which turned Greenland into prime farming territory for the Vikings.

Climates change. When you exit an Ice Age, you get warmer. Duh.
