'when the "conservative" tries to mention any of the enumerated points, he/she is immediately interrupted by the host/moderator, while the lib (usually in plural), slaps his/her hands over their ears and starts screaming, "LA LA LA, I CAN'T HEAR YOU!", or claims that these points were never made in their alternate universe.'
This results in "conservatives" having to continue trying to speak through and past the barrage of noise.
Libs are neither irrational or nuts (well they are but they aren't). Political argument just as everything else that touches politics is both war and religion for them. Winning isn't the only thing it is everything. On TV or radio the goal is not just to articulate the lib view but to disrupt the presentation of any other view so that the viewer only really hears one view. I know I have seen Snake head Carville blandly stating that there are no rules just wining and yelling, talking over, or interjecting constantly to break up the flow of an opponents comments is perfectly OK. In politics libs are always at war the motivator is gaining power because from the town hall to the White House that is what their lives are about, gaining power so they can use it to reward, bully, and intimidate. It is their life.
