You still have daylight don't you? Solar power does not require a bright, shiny day.

Winter in Michigan would be problematic. However if the solar isn't expected to be a end all solution and people can afford to try it, I say "go fer it". I've got several solar charged flashlights, radios, and yard lights that work great.

Solar roofing material may not be the final answer, but it couldn't hurt! I am thinking of investing some of my hard earned money in some of these companies.

Seiko and Citizen produce watches that run on solar energy. The future is here now - inexpensively. If large scale solar electricity can be realized, parts of the U.S could be taken off the electric grid altogether. Its worth waiting for it to happen.
