SPECTRE is a flim-flam artist. The main goal is to allow 12 million illegal aliens to waltz into America and make demands of our sovereign government that we Americans don't dare ask for. Pathetic!

The security of the border should be the No. 1 priority for an immigration bill, Sen. Arlen Specter said yesterday, and he's open to a compromise that sets goals for border and interior enforcement ahead of a guest-worker program and path to citizenship for illegal aliens.

This requirement would be a joke. And what would those "goals" be Arlen, the day after your scam passes Chertoff comes to the Senate to certify the border's closed?

They really take us for fools and simply cannot accept no for an answer. Listen up Specter, we don't want your amnesties, no matter what you call them.

What concerns me here, is why hasn't Bush sent up the candidates for judgeships? What's he waiting for, Christmas?

Flag Amendment is way to important. sarc. Actually keep in mind that they only have July left and then they go on six week vacation from 1 Aug until the Monday after Labor Day. After that it will be campaign mode. I doubt that they will have any more judges go up until after elections. I have been wrong before...hopefully I am on this.

"LOL. I guess even snarlin' arlen is hearing from constituents. He is clearly desperate to get an amnesty bill passed and will pretend to support anything else to do that. Of course, the devil is in the details; and the details he will support will provide for some symbolic border security plus amnesty. No matter what he says."

Exactly. The D.C. amnesty crowd STILL is not willing to separate the two issues. They will NOT do a border security bill unless there is an amnesty attached to it. National Security blackmail, pure and simple. And I do believe their main goal is to get amnesty for employers passed ASAP now that RICO prosecutions of their 'big business' cohorts are hanging over their heads.

Your friend and any others in her neighborhood who are affected, as she has been by illegals, needs to investigate the possibility of filing a RICO lawsuit against the landlords, city, local and state policy makers, and anyone else who has committed a federal offense by illegally ENCOURAGING illegal immigration. (A great place for this to happen would be by similarly affected residents in the city of Los Angeles)

"Predicate Offenses. RICO allows private plaintiffs to seek compensation from any citizen or entity that causes injury to his business or property by engaging in a pattern of specific criminal acts, called predicate offenses.........."

.........."An illegal alien with a U.S. bank account, in which he or she may deposit illegally acquired funds, and out of which he or she may pay local rent, local utility bills, and send money abroad, is more likely to remain illegally in the United States. In other words, he or she is ENCOURAGED to remain illegally in the United States — such encouragement being a violation of Federal law. "

"When such a violation is done for the purpose of financial gain, as in the case of the financial corporations engaged in the practice, it is more than simply a violation of immigration law — it is racketeering. Also, those contemplating entering the United States illegally will be further encouraged to do so because of the added benefits they can obtain once they enter..............."

"The inclusion of INA violations as RICO predicate acts in the 1996 immigration reform act was an attempt by Congress to provide private citizens with recourse in the face of widespread disregard for immigration laws. Now, citizens and businesses are beginning to avail themselves of this powerful new tool, and, if the intent of Congress bears fruit, the results could represent a drastic change in immigration law enforcement in the United States, based on private interest as opposed to government enforcement. By providing a strong incentive for employers and businesses to stop engaging in illegal hiring and the encouragement of illegal immigration for financial gain, there is hope to significantly reduce illegal immigration in the United States simply by working through the U.S. courts."

Specter isn't compromising a thing. If you read the article, he says that there would have to be a path to citizenship and a guestworker program in the final "compromise" bill. In other words, no change from the present bill.

I guess we're supposed to blindly accept Bush's promises that he would enforce the borders and hold employers accountable, even though he hasn't done so in the past.

Move along..nothing to see here.

Though his motives are often an enigma, Spectre is probably just attention-whoring for the press.

Thank you for your research and your post. The provisions of RICO act are an excellent tool to go after businesses that hire illegals.

Your welcome. I am making the effort to advise everyone that even ordinary citizens may have recourse against any entity, public or private, who encourages illegal immigration, including employers of them.

Lead, follow or get out of the way! The Minutemen are leading, the house of Representative is following and Specter and the Senate need to get out of the way.

Sorry, but it's very true.

Bush was pushing his amnesty since 1999 and nothing about true border security.

It's the House that has pushed for true border security.
