Whose idiotic idea was it to make Murtha your go-to guy with the Times?

This is what I would like to know.

Scratch my #36 The term was "but others" and it was Wolf saying it. However, Keller says that three from outside the Admin. talked to the Times (not necessarily to Keller) and asked the Times not to publish. Could it be that someone inside the Admin. is the bad guy?

I don't believe anything that comes out of Bill Keller or Jack Murtha's mouths.

Time for Murtha to answer some hard questions. But who will ask them? Certainly not Russert or the rest of the MSM.

With Murtha .. hard questions don't need to be asked

That man does enough damage to himself with his rambling

Just get him on air and let him talk

"Three people outside of the administration were asked by the administration to call us ... all of them spoke, they thought in confidence, and I don't think I'll, I don't think I'll breach the confidence of what they said, um, uh, although I will say that not all of them urged us not to publish."

He has no problem revealing classified information that will hurt the country but then turns ethical about private conversations. Upside down leftist world.

The president sets the tone. He's become tone deaf.

Just heard Brian Kilmead and the Judge say that Murtha wanted the Times to hold the story!!!

Hey radio producer, you still here on FR?

Can you buy Brian and the Judge a clue to Murtha and his involvement with the NY Times.

[If this is true that Murtha is the one who didn't press the NYT, we need to get this to his opponent's campaign.]

Exactly correct, and everyone get their support to Diana Irey's campaign as well. :-)

Trouble is, Murtha probably has no idea what he said. The man is senile.

the three Democrats are: Lee Hamilton (who was a conservative Democrat when he held office and a co-chair of the 9-11 Omission), Gov. Tom Kean (also from the 9-11 Omission) and Rep. Jack Murtha.

Ummm, Michele - Kean is not a Democrat.

He’s a RINO, but he’s not a Democrat.

logic prevails. ;) bump

When the founders granted 'The Press' special dispensation, they never considered the possibility that traitors in our midst would game the system. But that is precisely what is happening today. (Hate America? Support jihad? Become a 'journalist!')

This was bound to happen.

The premise behind the First Amendment as it applies to the press--that a vigilant watchdog is necessary, sufficient--indeed, possible--to protect against man's basest instincts--is tautologically flawed: The fox guarding the White House, if you will.

<snip>

If President George W. Bush is serious about winning the War on Terror, he will aggressively pursue the enemy in our midst.

Targeting and defeating the enemy in our midst is, by far, the more difficult task and will measure Bush's resolve and courage (and his independence from the MPRDC (mutual protection racket in DC)) more than any pretty speech, more even than 'staying the course.'

And it’s the same Jack Murtha who was an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1980 Abscam bust. Question for the White House: Whose idiotic idea was it to make Murtha your go-to guy with the Times? Who thought you could trust that senile buffoon?
AND, he is the same Jack Murtha who was attached to a Mass. unit during his brief stay in Vietnam:

http://asp.usatoday.com/news/politicselections/CandidateProfile.aspx?ci=462&oi=H

He returned to the states to run as the 'first Vietnam vet in the House". Once elected he was taken under the smelly wing of Tip O'Niell. As such, he was part of the contingent of "statesmen" who went over to Vietnam to "evaluate the situation". He then came home to join with the other traitors in pulling the funding out from under our boys. He made sure that those 50,000 boys lives had been given for NOTHING and has lived with a Chesire cat smirk on his face and a 1/2 empty gin bottle in his hand ever since. Observe:

"On Feb 27 1975, he arrived in Vietnam with a bi-partisan House delegation, to determine if the $522 million requested by President Ford to fund the war was "appropriate". This is according to a document called "Vietnam: Cease Fire to Capitulation". A chilling reminder of what can happen when the cowardly politians take over. It can be found here:

http:libraryautomation.com/nymas/Vietnamfulltext3.html.

He is a national disgrace

I think the President is smarter than to walk into a trap like that.

In my opinion, it's best to think this stuff through a little and not just automatically blame the President.

Be careful people. The story will CHANGE from KELLER and the NYSLIMES divulging TOP SECRET information during a time of war to WHO did NOT encourage Keller to KEEP the story under wraps.

Bears repeating. EXCELLENT POINT. Most importantly: KELLER KNOWS THIS.
