Israel has warned the supreme leader of Hamas he will be targeted for assassination if a kidnapped Israeli soldier is harmed.
International mediators are trying to win the release of the soldier, who was abducted during a weekend attack on an Israeli military post.
It is believed that Corporal Gilad Shalit is being held by Palestinian militants from Hamas somewhere in southern Gaza.
Egyptian and French mediators are talking to the militant groups in an effort to win the soldier's freedom.
But it is understood that the exiled supreme leader of Hamas, Khaled Meshaal, is refusing to authorise the Israeli's release.
Responding to the reports, the head of Israel's Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee, Tzachi Hanegbi, issued a threat to Mr Meshaal.
Mr Hanegbi says the Hamas leader will be targeted for assassination should any harm come to the captured soldier.
Missile aims at bridge
Meanwhile, an Israeli aircraft has fired a missile at a bridge in the central Gaza Strip, Palestinian witnesses said.
The bridge lies on one of the main roads linking the north and south of the Gaza Strip.
Israel pulled troops and settlers out of the Gaza Strip last year after 38 years of occupation.
Good.
Time for the Hamas members to start hiding behind the women and children.
OPERATION FLAVOR FLAV NOW IN FULL EFFECT !!!!!!!!
But not to worry. He has 72 Virginians awaiting his arrival. (Or were they raisins?)

Fox news is also showing Israeli tanks on the move into the Gaza strip, then moved on to other news - go figure

Hmm, I wonder if Spielberg is going to have to make another movie.
Why are the French involved in this?
Just in case somebody wants to surrender...???
YEEEAAAAHHHH BOYYYY!
Wow, I like how Israelis think/act. They don't mess around. Send out an "assassination warning" and that's that. They probably already have what's-his-face in the crosshairs.
Glad I could Help
