Excerpt -
According to a Palestinian Resistance Committees statement Wednesday morning, the group claimed it was holding, "Eliyahu Pinchas Asheri," the 18-year-old Itamar resident who went missing on Sunday. A spokesman for the group, known only as Abu Abir, told Al-Jazeera satellite TV early Wednesday that Asheri would be "butchered in front of TV cameras" if the IDF operation in Gaza did not stop. "Our patience is running out," said Abu Abir.

So they will murder a Jew? Let's remember whom Olmert wants to hand the strategic hilltops of Judea and Samaria over to after the enemy kills him.

No, probably not.

If I were ever taken hostage by some freaking terrorist, I would give myself up for dead. I never would want my life to be a bargaining chip--I would rather die.
And I would hope that my country would make it SO expensive, SO dangerous, and SO deadly to kidnap an American that it would never be done again.

Israel must have patience because they cannot take on their part of the world by themselves.
Think of the factors involved. All out war with Palestine. yes, Israel would wipe the floor with Palestine, but would it stop there? Thousands of missiles pointed at Israel. Iran itching to pull the trigger. Iran then will have its hands full with Iran. Keep in mind, Iran also has thousands of missiles pointed at American bases in Iraq.
This is NOT a simple operation. Much is at stake. Israel launches all out assault on Palestine and I would bet everything I own Syria and Iran get more involved than they are now. yes, they fund terrorists and they do not hide the fact. This whole middle east situation is a mess that is playing out in our favor.
Bush is patient, using the diplomatic channel to appease our western allies. Eventually, the well will run dry with Iran refusing to give up their aspirations for a bomb, or they will put their hands up saying we don't want to play this game any longer. I am going to put my cards on the former, but who knows. It's a dangerous game they are playing, and maybe Iran is that psychotic. Before Bush leaves office though the issue will be addressed militarily. I am fairly certain of that. We have a front to the east and to the west. This war over here was imminent and it will not stop until a clear victory is in the books.
All I am saying is Israel cannot handle this situation alone. They would live peacefully if they could, but sadly liberals and fanatics (same thing) blame all problems on the Jews. All goes back to the Old Testament. But they will win, and the time is now. I love Israel and I believe they can hold their own, but i also look at their situation realistically and I know they are a hated nation in the midst of lunatics that want them "wiped off the map." They need our help. Not France's help. Not Germany's. They need the last remaining superpowers help and luckily there is a man in charge that will take care of business. Do I believe Bush is a genius in this? Not quite. But the cards are being turned over slowly, and I smell clear victory for Israel, and as long as a Conservative is in office, that will always mean a victory for America and the world.

Many ordinary Palestinian Arabs obviously know where Asheri is being held.
If they won't tell then 'butcher' them all.

It looks as if you failed to read the WHOLE post.
Iran has misslies pointed at American bases in Iraq. Thousands of missiles are pointed at Israeli cities. I am not saying they are weak, just that they lack the manpower or the strength to fight this war on all these fronts. Iran is NOT Egypt. They are much more powerful. Don't make the mistake of thinking otherwise.
America wiped the florr with Iraq and would wipe the floor with Iran. But don't compare Israel to America. That would be humorous. Israel can hold its own, yes, but I think it is odd that everyone throws them up on a high horse as unstoppable. Their sole job is keeping their country safe. Every dime they have and is given to them is spent on defense. Of course they would be able to protect themselves. But to go on an offensive of that magnitude? No sir. I don't believe they could get the job done.

Israel could take on the Palistinians. IMO the other Arab countries would not help out much. They are all talk. When we cut funding to the Hamas elected leadership the Arab countries made a few small token pledges of money to the Palestinians. But didn't deliver. They talk a lot but won't put up the money. Jordanians don't like Palistinians. They had a war in the late 1970's "Black September". Palestinians in most Arab countries are the underclass. The Arabs talk all about Palestinian rights but don't do crap for them in their own countries.
I think Israel can fight the war on all fronts. Not that they want to because they would suffer casualties but they would come out the victor. Arabs are scared of Israel's nukes. Arab Air Forces are relatively non existent.

Being happy is against their religion.
WRONG! Rape, pillaging, hostage taking, beheading, killing civilians makes them very happy because they are making blood flow for their false god and false prophet
Muhammedans are pagans making their pagan idols happy. This is paganism.

Exactly......this logic is like saying the Jews wanted to live in peace is Germany with the Nazis. Sometimes you have to fight, regardless of the odds.
