Turkey must be scared of the world ruling EU.

Just the massive economic clout of the EU alone is now, and will become a more dominant force in the world, whether we like it or not.

Ponzi schemes are not economic forces.

LOL. Look at rates of growth and where they are coming from. EU's only growth has been from territiorial expansion. It's richest and most powerful states have 10% - 15% unemployment and essentially a no-growth economy. Europe's native populations are imploding. It's only going to get worse as European boomers age with no children to support them in retirement. Their only choice is to share power and wealth with the Muslim immigrants--not exactly a recipe for economic growth. Sharia was not designed for a streamlined, modern economy.

Meanwhile, China, India, the US, and even Mexico are easily outstripping the EU in economic growth. Differential rates of growth over the next 20-50 years will render the EU as irrelevant economically as they are today militarily.

Which is one reason that some pols here are keen on a non-political economic merger of North America complete with near or total open borders. Something many here now ridicule as outside the realm of possibilities although those same people will be defending the idea in the near future.
