I can only speculate. It may be that Syrian AAA is helping to deter IAF interdiction of resupply convoys from Syria. A limited strike may be enough to ruffle feathers, but avoid drastic expansion of the conflict. The level of Yoni's sources is unknown. He has been fairly close in describing events, but at this stage of the expanded conflict one can only guess.

I'm hearing that IDF hit a hospital type complex around Baalbek, and took several prisoners and brought them back to Israel. I wonder what the papers/ID on the prisoners looks like?
