Don't buy the reports of Islamist victory in Mogadishu, Somalia. This war of clans and chaos isn't over.
Though U.S.-supported "secular warlords" in the Alliance for the Restoration of Peace and Counterterrorism militia have fled Mogadishu, the fundamentalist Islamic Courts Union (ICU) doesn't control hearts, minds or, for that matter, all of Mogadishu. Clan militias still operate in parts of the shattered city. The Alliance's disintegration may be temporary. Defeated Somali militias tend to regroup in the countryside.
As one of the recently declassified al Qaeda documents (Letter 3 to al Qaeda's "Africa Corps") reveals, the U.S. withdrawal from Mogadishu fed al Qaeda's dream of defeating America. The al Qaeda correspondent wrote that Somalia was a "splendid victory" with "profound implications ideologically, politically and psychologically."
He added: "The Somali experience confirmed the spurious nature of American power and that it has not recovered from the Vietnam complex. It fears getting bogged down in a real war that would reveal its psychological collapse at the level of personnel and leader." Subsequent events proved al Qaeda dead wrong about American staying power.
In the long run, regional stabilization will help Somalia. But in the short run, Somalia will remain a chaotic battlefield.
The United States and Islamo-fascist terrorists will continue to square off through proxies. Neighboring nations like Ethiopia, Eritrea and Kenya will pursue their own interests by backing favored Somali clans and leaders with money and arms. Ethiopian troops (already inside Somalia) may masquerade as African Union peacekeepers.

a good nuking is what Somolia needs
I think Somalia need some strong leadership that is NOT a Taliban/Al Qaeda style.
Most people there are just poor.
Al Qaeda is trying to establish a base country, since they have been chased out of Afghanistan and Iraq.
Nothing quite like that good ol' Clinton Legacy, is there? It is the gift that just keeps giving...and giving...
Carter and Clinton did more damage to the US than any enemy ever could.
Carter helped radical Islam takeover of Iran, Clinton ignored and encouraged Al Qaeda.
Everything would be settled if the United Nations would send Anjolie/Pitt kids and the Papparazzi in.
Don't forget Jimmah's wonderful pick for Africa, either. Andrew Young didn't do the continent any favors, imo.
