In Mass. they send the state police up to New Hampshire to spy on any cars from Mass, that are in the fireworks parking lot and they stop

Same thing happens on the Illinois - Wisconsin border.

Same thing happens on the Illinois - Indiana border, but primarily where the Chicago streets abut Indiana towns, and the cops can catch people crossing over within site of the fireworks retailer. Doesn't happen nearly as often on the interstate highways, people going shopping cross-border often worry, but aside from the final weekend leading up to the holiday, they leave you alone. Heck, the best fireworks in my old neighborhood where the homes of cops.
