N. Korea: Launch Prep Complete for Additional 3 or 4 Missiles

Government sources said, "In addition to missiles already launched, N. Korea has set up three or four of Nodong and Scud B & C missiles on mobile launcher, with all launch preparation complete. N. Korea declared the prohibited sea-travel zone which is in effect from July 5th to 11th, due to missile launches, and banned fishing boats from leaving port. Theoretically, more launches are possible for next five days.

N. Korean missile launches so far.

He wants money. It's as simple as that.

He's upset that Iran is going to get a deal, and he wants in on a piece of the pie.

What is the point in testing the 50 year old technology of the Scud missile? Kim is just trying to get our attention.

Maybe there was no leaking this time.

A secret of this immense proportion could never be held for more than a few hours at the most. Every modern nation with any intelligence capability at all would detect it. Someone with a good or bad reason would tell someone about it in the media or I'net..........

Frankly, I think he is trying to hit something.

Perhaps through selective leaking, we have convinced him that we have an invisible "mother ship" hovering directly off his East coast.

I heard someone mention today the smaller missles were based on 1950's technology...not sure if that's factual.

...goad us into intercepting one to see what our system does

Why? all we have to do is pull it out of the ocean bottom if we want to analyze it............and we probably already are.......

He wants to unify Korea with him as the ruler. He knows the South will capitulate. The only thing stopping him is the US.
He's testing our wills.

Are these real or did Kim Jong Il spend his allowance from China on buying up Estes kits on E-Bay?

Talk about brilliant! His country is starving and he is preventing fishing boats from going out...just so he can fire off his stinking archaic missiles!

Yes, Scuds. The reports that I have read indicate that the smaller missiles are Scud-Bs and Scud-Cs. Others, Nodongs, are Scud derivatives. The Big Boy, the TD-2, went BOOM! less than fourty seconds after launch.

Great way for China to gain intel on our missile defense.

Ed Zachary what I was thinking.

Old joke: Man goes to an Oriental doctor.
Doctor looks at the patient and then asks him to turn around and pull down his pants.
The doctor says, "Sir, you have Ed Zachary disease."
The man asks, "What is that?".
The doctor replies, "Your face looks Ed Zachary like your a$$."

Not sure about NK's electronic capabilities, but they'd be able to tell a lot from their own missile data (range, altitude, speed, and so on). China probably has a better chance of monitoring it electronically and I am sure they are trying.

I mean that NK and China would be interested in seeing what our ABM system can do.

Well, if they announce and warn downrange, that is a step toward civilized behavior.

My sources tell me that the next generation of NKorean missiles will be named... Ding Dong.

Not only can they export it as a missile... they can give it to the people as food.

Shortly after they develop the Ding Dong, they'll develop the Twinkie. Then their people will be pacified. Pacified with Twinkies and Ding Dongs.

Do you think that Kim Jung really gives a rats ass how much they cost. They cut Marie Antoinette's head off when she told them, "Let them eat cake" Kim Jung is smoking a cigar (Cuban) and watching a porno flick (American) right about now.

Maybe he is using the missiles to kill and pre-cook the fish...
