Nurse Rached
Followed by what befell one Randle Patrick McMurphy.
Better a locked up, drugged out, psychopath than one roaming the streets looking for their next victim.
This is true. I have seen more parents outside the system that simply don't care enough or are too lazy to attempt to do anything.
Sometimes the system is a good thing. It was for us. We had a 13 year old girl who decided she was going to be on her own and would run away every time she had a chance. She was in and out of girls homes, until she was 18.
No, there was not sexual abuse or abuse in any way. She just went wild. Had we not done anything, she would have run the streets and probably ended up pregnant.
She is 30 years old now and we couldn't ask for a better daughter. It was hell for about 4 years when this was taking place. It turned out well.
"Unconditional love does not mean turning a blind eye. It means discipline... maybe the kind provided by the state. It just depends..."
Or maybe punishment of the corporal kind. I imagine that a good regimen of switching-when-earned would do wonders for him.
Brand me insensitive then. ;)
I've already raised 3 kids. When they get to be teenagers, it's very helpful if dad makes them a little nervous. And it doesn't matter if they're boys or girls.
The 10-year-old will remain in the juvenile detention center near Land O'Lakes for just shy of a month. His mother said she hopes it will make a difference.
I think this mother is as good as dead.
I think he's got a future in foster homes.
Without any doubt I predict that this kid's only future is life in prison w/o parole. It's already too late. If he treats his mother this way what kind of treatment will foster parents get. Personally I think we'll be reading shortly about the murder of this mother. No doubt at all.
Apparently the green vomit was the last straw.
LOL
The best reply I've read.

dont waste your time....to many other decent kids out there
What kind of parent is that?
Some kids are evil and it has little to do with parents.
He's not afraid of discipline, never has been if he started attacking her at age 6.
This mother will be dead within a year and this kid will spend his entire life in prison. Guaranteed prediction.
Where's a dad when you need one?
Part of me believes you are correct, and the good in me wants to hope for the best...stories like Helen Keller's come to mind. But based on my experience with the state, it's a long shot. Odds are foster homes will do more harm than good.
Male leadership is what this punk needs. He is getting away with this stuff because she can't dominate the little cuss. The kid has grasped that. A father figure would immedately put the kid into his position and ensure he cleans up his act.
