Yep, that's what I thought they would do. They'll collect the sales tax, then let you grovel to get some of it back through a property tax rebate.

It's the "Best Buy" plan - the sales tax is now 7% but only 6.5% "after rebate".

How much you wanna bet it's not all going for property tax rebates next year...

It will be Clinton all over again with his middle class tax cut after he got elected. "I just can't do it..."

And it is not. You only qualify for a rebate if you make a certain amount of money.
