Second Cold War

Interesting point.

I'm not so sure how 'cold' any future war can be, given the War on Terror's asymmetric nature, indeterminate but long duration, and absence of MAD as a deterrent, i.e., these two kinds of wars won't be discrete entities in the future, IMO.

Second Cold War

I meant a Second Cold War on the sense of a nuclear escalation /standoff between the US and another power, in this case China. Several obvious differences... 1)No president besides Clinton has ever accepted campaign contributions from an enemy, and 2) No administration during the Cold War ever enabled the USSR to kill more Americans; Clinton allowed the Chinese nearly unlimited access to nuclear weapons technology, as well as computer and other dual-use technology... all of which went directly to the Chinese military. Bill Clinton enabled our greatest potential adversary (one that identifies the United States as the "main enemy") to strike America with nuclear weapons... weapons designed by Americans for the defense of America.

One more difference... the Russians weren't half as crazy as the Chinese, and didn't have the hard currency reserves that the Chinese do. Also, the USSR didn't hold a quarter billion in US bonds... as well as controlling nearly 40% of the US manufacturing economy.

Clinton, thy name is weakness... Weak on defense, weak on foreign policy, weak on the economy, and weak on protecting America. The damage done by Clinton will affect the US for the next twenty years... thus, the seeds for the Second Cold War.
