Keith Butler faces an August 8 primary against the (relatively) more moderate Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard. Bouchard is reportedly pro-life and has been courting gun owners, but Butler has staked out solid pro-life and pro-gun positions for years.
I'll post links to the vidoes below.

I'm sorry...
Rev. Butler pulls $1 million a year in salary from his church. That's a problem for me. I'm betting it has been noted by others as well.
Second, the Rev. Butler has been reluctant to spend any of his own money on the campign to this point. This has been noticed by many GOP regulars in my county.

I think Butler would beat StabaCow if he can win the Primary, but beyond that, I think if he is nominated it will help split up the Detroit vote and get Grandstand out of there.
Having a few Black conservatives in Congress wouldn't hurt for 08 either.

There are lots of important races in Michigan this year, somehow a fire needs to be lit under Republicans to wake them up.
We have a very good chance of taking a US Senate seat from a RAT, an easy win for Governor if we don't somehow blow it, and an almost guaranteed seat for the 7th congressional district where we can replace a liberal RINO (Schwartz) with a solid Conservative ( Walberg ).
The primaries are only 30 days away and Michigan's Republicans seem uninterested. Well, at least to me, but then I eat, sleep, and breathe politics...lol

Well I am doing gun shows for GOP, passing out yards signs, doing lit drops and having a fund raiser for a state rep and county commissioner.
And you?

Well said!
Keith Butler will be a quantum leap over Stabenow. Now that Zandstra is gone, he's obviously the best candidate in the race.

I'm doing phone surveys for DeVos and traveling around the 7th district talking to sportsmen and gun owners in support of Tim Walberg.
Tomorrow I will start on putting up signs. I may just check and see if I can get some Butler signs too.

I was going to vote for Kieth Bulter before, but Bouchard just got the kiss of death.
The Detroit Free Press endorsed him.

"I think if he is nominated it will help split up the Detroit vote and get Grandstand out of there."
Don't be to sure, many inner city Detroiters consider him a sell out and many of his own parishiners don't think he would make a good representative in the Senate.
I have communicated directly with him and he is decidedly running on moral issues and has absolutely no interest in economic issues.
We lost a lot when Jerry Zandstra failed to get enough signatures to be on the primary ballot. If Keith Butler wins the primary, Stabenow will retain her seat.

There are several ways to look at it because its a statewide election, not just Detroit.
I can't see Bouchard taking anything from the RAT vote and I'm not to sure of his views on the 2nd amendment. Thats a big issue in the Republican base.

I don't necessarily disagree, and I am a bit hopeful that the rest of the State will drag us out of this leftist heck hole. However, with the Governor's race and the sheer hate of GWB that the Metro area has, I anticipate a relatively good turnout in November. That will significantly hurt the Repub's efforts for both major races.
In all honesty, I don't know Bouchard all that well. He is the only candidate that I have not communicated with. So, yes, Butler may very well be heads and tales above him. What I do know is that Zandstra was heads and tales above Butler.
I will keep my fingers crossed, but am not very optomistice about this Nov. Of course, I am surrounded by socialist idiots......

There will be a big turnout, but it wont be RATS voting to stay the course.
Grandstand is in serious trouble and she will take StabaCow down with her. The affirmative action vote is the wild-card in Nov. I'll have to do some thinking on that one to judge how that might effect turnout.
Also on the ballot will be dove hunting, that fires up moonbats but should bring out the sportsmen.
