If you're looking at the flood story from the Bible, it
says that the the animals which were destroyed were those
that had the "breath of life"...it didn't talk about all
the fishes, or plants being destroyed.
As far as when the land masses were altered, I don't know.
I do know that after the Mount Saint Helen blast occured
in 1980, there was a small canyon that was formed complete
with sedimentary layers, in a period of months to years
post the eruption. It is in National Geographic magazine.
It would be an interesting study to see what fossils are
in those geological structures, or how radiometric
dating dates those structures...I would guess that a major
shift in the land masses would cause lots of destruction and
erasure of its pre-cataclysmic state, especially if it occured quickly. No?
OK, so you cover a field of wheat for 40 days with several feet of water and its not destroyed? Oh really?
Please, show me the data! After Mount St Helens blasted, all the animals that relied on the plant life that died due to the blast died as well. Magnify that by the entire planet, how did the little bunnies survive without food? How did the wolves survive without the bunnies?
You seem to want to make every possible exception to your fable to prove your point, but by doing so, you really show your ignorance.
In regards to your mention of Mt Saint Helens...
I remember the day that it blew- We lived south of there and had a thick layer of dust on our car in the morning. I also remember "scientists" postulating how bad it all was because the heat had killed all seeds and that no life could have survived. You should see the area full of vegetation 26 years later!
