My dad was military. He did his tours in Vietnam and worked for the Department of Defense. I have a lot of empathy for military families and troops in harm’s way. My first single ‘Raised on the Radio’ was about my dad returning from Vietnam with this radio that supplied the soundtrack of our lives. I was approached about doing the song ‘When He Comes Home’ right after my dad died and when I heard it I had to record it because it meant something to me. This song was Billboard Country Song of the Year in 2006 and no one has recorded it. This song and this view is my tribute to the military and their families. If you’d like to contribute a photo or video of your soldier coming home please go to my website and download the information needed.
