A few thoughts on Pornography before moving on.

I want to know, when did pornography become art.

We have not until the immediate past accepted the ill-advised reasoning that pornography should be protected under free speech.

Art may be in the eye of the beholder but artist still have a responsibility for what they produce.

Pornographers who are willing to do harm to not only children but also adults seek protection from society’s norms under the guise of artistic value.

Pornography certainly seems to be at epidemic proportions thorough all levels of society.

Pornography is like some cancerous Melanoma that just will not go away.

America has been at a crossroads for some time.

One should be scared to death of this so-called new enlightenment currently rampaging through America.

Pornography left alone to weed its highly contagious destructive way through society will do to America what it has done to all great societies.

Sick people who use pornography on a regular basis are like addicts on crack or the town drunk waiting for the next exhilarating high caused by the self destructive fix or bottle of cheap wine.

Scumbag proliferators can put all the do not touch, peep or listen disclaimers available on this filth.

All that does is cause children, immature adults and the perverted to seek its use in a more fervent manner.

Just my opinion: that and $1.79 will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks.

I don't know that pornography IS art, but I know that the perception of pornography is often subjective. That's why the Supreme Court based the test on community standards.

"Pornography certainly seems to be at epidemic proportions thorough all levels of society."

That's not my perception, because I am not often exposed to it. I'd have to go looking for it, which I generally don't. Then again, we may have different definitions of pornography.

"I want to know, when did pornography become art"

There are thousands of examples of erotic and outright pornographic art predating the antiquity period, some fertility figures going back before the written word.

My opinion on the topic has always been that a vice is something that a person allows themselves to have, be it alcohol, drugs, sex or thrillseaking. Any number of things can be damaging if you allow them to consume you, which is why the concepts of self control and moderation are so important in a free society. I've always considered the thought process of blaming the vice ( sex, tobacco, booze, ect) as a scapegoat for accepting personal responsibility for one's actions
