This headline is so great I couldn't resist posting it.
If you read the article, apparently the band is doing this in conjunction with Josie and Pussycats in Outerspace.

I never did understand the appeal of Dave Matthews.

Ofsetting CO2 pollution? I have tried to read this article about 5 times now and I have no clue what it is about. Is there anyone able to read through the double-speak in this one and explain it in 20 words or less?

I just had to do the numbers...
According to
this, world burning of fossil fuels emits roughly 25 billion tons of CO2 per year, or
68 million tons per day, or
2.9 million tons per hour, or
47,500 tons per minute, or
792 tons per second.
That means our CO2 savior Dave Matthews has staved off imminent DOOM by 22.7 seconds. What a great guy.

Bad music. Bad science. Any questions?

How is he planning to offset the CO2 coming out of every breath he exhales? And, while performing his heart rate goes up so is he calculating that as well?

The Dave Matthews Band may have serious concerns about global warming, but for my money this is a marketing ploy. I haven't even thought about the DMB in at least 2 years and yet today I'm actually tapping their name on my keyboard. |

Note to Dave Matthews:
If you don't know what you're doing, don't do it.
Having said that, clean air is a good thing.

I told God I'm coming
to your country
I'm going to eat up your cities.
your homes, you know
I've got a stomach full it's not
a chip on my shoulder
I've got this growl in my tummy
and I'm gonna stop it today
I eat too much
I drink too much
I poop too much
Too much
