I considered his wife's role in initiating Wilson's mission, later confirmed by the Senate Intelligence Committee, to be a previously undisclosed part of an important news story. I reported it on that basis.

In my sworn testimony, I said what I have contended in my columns and on television: Joe Wilson's wife's role in instituting her husband's mission was revealed to me in the middle of a long interview with an official who I have previously said was not a political gunslinger. After the federal investigation was announced, he told me through a third party that the disclosure was inadvertent on his part.

Novak said, "I learned Valerie Plame's name from Joe Wilson's entry in 'Who's Who in America,'" according to the Drudge Report.

Fitz knew Novak's story and yet kept "fishing" for more information. Seems he derived a nice income from the Taxpayer's trough!

He should be fired and charged with falsifying excuses to keep the "investigation" going! And return all the taxpayer's money to the Treasury.

The big bucks come from getting your column carried in newspapers. Being on Fox is a way to get publicity for your books and columns. It does not pay much.

On CNN Novak was on Crossfire. That is a show hosts job. That does pay pretty well. But just being a guest on a show pays peanuts.

I never said it was Libby. I had quoted Steve_Seattle's question: "#1. Do we have any reason to believe that Libby is - or is not - that source? Hume MUST ask Novak if Libby was his original source."

Then I responded by asking if Libby gave Miller and the other dope, Matthew Cooper a waiver to release his name, wouldn't he have also given a waiver to Novak too if he had talked to him? It's obvious he hadn't talked to Novak or that info would have come out at the same time the story broke that Libby had talked to Miller and Cooper.

There must be a line in Vegas by now. I think the source was Wilson himself. Novak, right after this story in '03 said there wasn't a story. He wouldn't have said that if it was leaked from "on high."

Doesn't matter on the question of guilt. The name was revealed inadvertently, so there was no crime.

You are correct. Earlier, I had thought the primary source was a Senator, which would fit with "government employee".

Use your head. If Novak was going to reveal his source tomorrow night...

FOX would be screaming... "TUNE IN TOMORROW EVENING TO HEAR NOVAK REVEAL HIS PRIMARY SOURCE FOR THE PLAME STORY!"

OK, sorry, your analysis seems sound.

Quite untrue. It's a bigger story than just Novak's source, or the lack of one. What Novak has revealed is: 1) The source is not political 2) the source revealed the information inadvertently, and 3) the source and circumstances were known to the prosecutor.

4) The source was not Rove.

Maybe Hannity will tell us who gave him that 'leaked' memo that came out of old Rockefeller's office. That memo sure did lay out the road map that leads us to where we are today.

There is one point that I do believe that Joe Wilson did tell the truth about, his trip to Niger was NOT his woman Val gal's initial idea. Somebody a lot higher up the food chain set in motion the plot to save Saddam, the rest appears like a 'Watergate learned' attempt to indict a sitting President.

Your right, I remember thinking that he is speaking like this because he KNOWS that Rove, Novak, Bush, Cheney, Libby, ect, are all honorable and would NOT speak about any testimony, because Fitz himself asked them ALL not to speak.

So Fitz goes out and smears them knowing they will not answer back.

FYI..WaPo's WSalter Pincus now on Hardball, semi-slamming Novak for going early to the grand jury while Judy Miller was in jail, and Matt Cooper faced jail..
