Brit kept pushing Mort for why would Mort STILL think there was a conspiracy to hurt Wilson...which is what the whole investigation was based on...and Mort just kind of sat their with his mouth open..
He did say that it was an "offensive" move by the White House..which Fred and Brit pointed out is not true..they were playing defense against the editorial that Wilson wrote, calling the information in Bush's SOU address a LIE.
Even poor Mara was trying to say that there still is a "there" there...
But, Brit said he can't see NOW that there ever was a reason for an investigation..
Mort and Mara disagreed...and Brit said, "Well, we will have Bob here tomorrow night..and hopefully he can clear this up"...
