Remember that outrageous Islamic crescent-shaped memorial for Flight 93, that caused such an uproar the designer was forced to go back and make changes?
Well, the changes are in, and the elements that caused the initial uproar are completely unaltered. Alec Rawls recaps the story,

I sent my comment as follows:
Right back to having the same giant terrorist memorial.
After all the outcry, you still can't get it through your thick heads the a crescent of ANY KIND is INAPPROPRIATE. It is the symbol of islam. It is the symbol of terrorism. It is the guide by which the murdering bastards took our own people on our own soil. Change it, Change it now, Change it forever.

Los Angeles architect paul murdoch has been told over and over again about the crescant being of islam. He doesn't care. His own comments when this blew up the first time was he designed this memorial to be for all the people on board Flight 93. murdoch doesn't care about the American heroes on Flight 93. murdoch is erecting a memorial to the terrorists and islam and murdoch knows such, but murdoch continues with his crescant idea because of his hate for America and Americans.

"A public open house and meeting on the draft document will be held on July 20, 2006, at the Shanksville Stonycreek School, Shanksville, PA, between 7:00pm and 9:00pm. Written and oral comments relating to the material presented in the document will be received. Please contact the Flight 93 National Memorial office at 814-443-4557 for more information.
The planning process will conclude in the Fall of 2006 with the signing of a Record of Decision by the National Park Service and release of the final plan.
TIME is VERY SHORT! If we don't act, like Debre Burlingame has done with the WTC Memorial, IT WILL BE TOO LATE!
This meeting next week needs to be FReeped. If we don't make a big public stink to drag this travesty out of the shadows, we're going to end up with the worlds largest outdoor mosque, aligned with Mecca and pointing towards the White House!

I do remember he said something specifically about the crescent. The fact it was called the Crescent of Embrace originally is a ghastly mockery of the heroism displayed by ordinary Americans there. It's bad enough it is not heroic & inspiring. We don't need a weepy memorial there, we need a stirring monument.

BTW, comments are fine, but we must follow up with the Parks Service. The comments are supposed to be for techical compliance stuff and I'm pretty sure they'll just toss any design comments. Get on the phone. Call Santorum, call your own congresscritter, and call the National Parks service.

Paul Murdoch is as much a liberal apologist as he is an architect... a peacenik that believes militant Islam can be won over by "inclusiveness", hence the design of this complete disgrace of a memorial.
I urge everyone to pick up the phone, send a fax, or compose an email urging the powers that be TO CRUSH THIS UTTER DISGRACE OUT OF EXISTENCE FOREVER. It is a gutless, underhanded smear against the people that died so heroically that day, and against the country they died defending.
We have but a short time to act.

The comments solicited at the link seem not to relate to the design, but rather to some choice of administrative/bureaucratic plan. Probably any comments relating to design submitted through that link will be disregarded.
