OK, straight out of araRATfink's playbook. State Dept talking appeasement will now coordinate a negotiating meeting with these terrorists through the A-RABS.
To: SJackson
Screw restraint. Where is the restraint on the part of terrorists?

I don't envy Rice's job right now.

I don't see how you can kidnap someone and still be acting with restraint.

If Israel were any more "restrained" in their fight for survival, they'd be blowing up their own buses.

Here we go...more smoke and mirrors. You can bet the real action is being decoyed with this skirmish.

I don't envy Rice's job right now. To execute the President's foreign policy. The White House made a statement, she expanded on it by calling for restraint. I presume that's what she was expected to do.

I condemn today's kidnapping by Hezbollah, a terrorist organization, of two Israeli soldiers. Hezbollah's action undermines regional stability and goes against the interests of both the Israeli and Lebanese people. ***************
I know she can't really say anything other than this, but wouldn't it be nice if she could really speak out? Being Secretary of State must be torturous.

I don't see how you can kidnap someone and still be acting with restraint. You don't work for the State Dept. That was before, this is now. Ask for the prisoners back and exercise restraint from this point forward. After the next attack, do it again.

At this point is this not simply a HOT war between two countries?

"Today Hizballah terrorists operating from Lebanon kidnapped two Israeli soldiers and launched rocket attacks against civilian targets in Israel."
Rice: "All sides must act with restraint."
At this rate, I might as well make this my tagline:
We are doomed.
I used to be such an optimist, but even Bush has lost his guts, I fear.

Makes sense to me. I'm getting tired of the old run-it-up-the-flagpole-and-see-what-the-Americans-will-do-next B.S.

I know she can't really say anything other than this, but wouldn't it be nice if she could really speak out? Being Secretary of State must be torturous. She could, read the White House statement. It could have been stronger, but it hit the essential points and focused blame where it belongs. It's all that was necessary. Clearly there was a desire to dilute the message being sent.

Why? To save civilian lives, terrorist lives, and prevent damage to infastructure.

Nah...chin up- this is what Rice has to say- she is our chief diplomat...here is what the White House said:
We also hold Syria and Iran, which have provided long-standing support for Hizballah, responsible for today's violence. We call for the immediate and unconditional release of the Israeli soldiers.

No Way! They have every right to not use restraint. Crossing an internationally recognized border to kidnap and kill is an "Act of War."
