So Schlesinger counted cards: not sure if that's a gambling problem, but geez. The last candidate the Republicans chose to run against Lieberman ended up being a child molester, and is now in prison.

Card counting's not so bad, by politician standards. Although, it would probably take a very experienced card counter to be able to keep track of what the federal government's doing with our tax dollars.

This "news" is proof that Democrats are becoming worried about Joe Lieberman's chances of winning the primary.

Guess I'll be the bad guy here. We may as well bail and give this one to Joe, it is not like a Conservative stands a chance there and a lib that supports the GWOT(Lieberman) beats a lib that wants to run away crying (Lamont).

Isn't there a single principled conservative Republican in Connecticut who will pick up the gauntlet and run a vigorous campaign against these two lefties? It may come down to Race Bannon or me. If Race doesn't throw his hat in the ring I'm announcing my candidacy. Will CT vote for a former bartender, opera singer and stay-at-home-Dad for Senator? We shall see.

Thank you both for the heads up... I'll ping the CT list.

I doubt a feasible Republican will run (Johnson, Simmons, Shays). I think the best thing is to register as a Democrat and keep Lieberman in.

Diana Urban, REPUBLICAN state representative from North Stonington filed to run this week for the US Senate seat held by Lieberman. She is opposed to the war and concerned about Global Warming. She says her record is more substantial than Lieberman or any of the other candidates. She is a classic RINO. I think she is to the left of Lieberman, who is looking better to me every day. I can't imagine she is known outside of our little corner of the state. I suspect the only reason she is a Republican is because her father is some bigwig in the Republican National Committee or something like that.
