The Oracle of Damascus spoken in Isaiah 17:1 has been a long time coming.

Assad wouldn't have his people saying this unless he thought he could win. I wonder what other coutries are about to get in on this hit parade against Israel?
And I wonder what WMD Syria has lined up since there is ZERO change they would defeat Israel in a straight up conventional fight.
I think Iran and Egypt might jump in at the last minute.

israel wouldnt be kickin beirut and shelling lebanon if Syria/Irans agents were not there hiding behind the skirts of lebanon!
If the iranian/syrian intermeddling stopped, there would be no issue.

"are trying to wipe out Arab resistance in every land under occupation"
Good grief, ok what about 9/11, Madrid bombing, London Bombing, and all the other crap they keep on trying to do. They have a very odd perspective on things...

It said Israel and the United States "are trying to wipe out Arab resistance in every land under occupation" and that President Bashar al-Assad was aware of the seriousness of the situation in the region.Arab resistance? Hah? Wha? Who?
This President Asswad guy makes no sense.

Doesn't look to me like Syria is doing much supporting. They talk the talk but are too afraid to walk the walk. Israel would stomp the Syrians AGAIN if they jump into this.

Syria says fully backs Hizbollah against Israel They've always fully backed them -- no secret there. But to openly admit it is an invitation for disaster (for Syria).

First heard this on the radio, and honestly thought it was a misquote.
If true, then the war will go regional.

For some reason, this: "Damascus will cease being a city. A ruinous heap." Seems appropriate to many threads.

That's like saying that the US fully backs the USMC. It is an arm of their military, funded by Iran and jointly controlled.
