Veteran Pleads Guilty to Vandalizing Cars

DENVER (AP) -- An Air Force officer pleaded guilty Friday to defacing cars with bumper stickers supporting President Bush, and was given a two-year deferred sentence.

Lt. Col. Alexis Fecteau, a decorated officer who flew 500 combat hours in the Gulf War, Kosovo and Bosnia, pleaded guilty to felony mischief and must pay restitution to the owners of the damaged cars to clear his record.

Fecteau, 43, of Colorado Springs, did not speak during the hearing nor comment after it.

Attorney Patrick Mulligan said his client, a 20-year veteran, has submitted his retirement papers.

Negotiations are under way to determine at what rank and with what benefits he will be retired.

The problem with flyboys has always been that the 'gung-hoeness' that serves them well in flying combat also translates to a, well, extended adolescence kind of mindset in many cases....so you have a 43-year old LTC engaging in college pranks....how embarassing (but not all that surprising)

BTW, how do you 'vandalize' a car with a bumper sticker? Don't they peel off? Sounds like someone had nothing to do.....

OK. I now read the article. This dude didn't paste bumper stickers, he ... well, read it here:

"Fecteau originally faced 13 charges for defacing vehicles at the Denver airport from January to July 2005. Fecteau admitted to investigators he had vandalized cars starting around the time of the November 2004 election, but pleaded guilty to a single charge of criminal mischief that named all 13 victims. I still have a BUSH 2004 sticker on my bumper - possibly the only one in Australia. I got a particulary nasty look (with gestures) from a man of "Middle Eastern appearance" the other day. LOL!!!

Don't you wish you could just put them on a boat and send them back to the sand? Those people refuse to be assimilated and civilized, hence the only alternatives are to either submit to their terrorist demands, or to send them packing.

Based on my experience in USAF JAG, expect him to be retired as a Major. This stunt will cost him hundreds of thousands of dollars in retirement pay over the next 40 years.
